A Gallery of Nightmarish Super Mario Enemies
We’ve seen Pokemon from Hell, and now it’s time for another Nintendo franchise to get a little bit demonic. This is the work of Mike Puncekar who got the idea in his head to give the world of Super Mario Bros. a demented update. He’s taken some of the most classic bad guys from the series and remade them into horrifying creations.
I’d love if Nintendo would go outside their comfort zone JUST ONCE to make an adult-themed title like this for one of their classic franchises, but I know they never will. Though if I had to choose, I would probably pick a console title adapting Pokemon from Hell. That would just be too badass. Though R-rated Mario would definitely be a blast as well.

This would be the most badass game ever! An edgy Mario disc would sky-rocket. Especially now that rock/metal is gaining in popularity over hip-hop/rap and directors like Tim Burton are all the rage. Steampunk is also pretty chic now and these sketches reminded me of Mario meets Bioshock meets Resident Evil. Sure, purists and those who have little kids worshipping the plumber’s franchise might get their panties in a bundle, but EVERYONE else would fucking love it, including my self.
