This Week In Movie Trailers!

trailers-featured

After a long weekend we’re back at it. Labor Day didn’t seem to bring in any awe inspiring trailers but nevertheless, I trudge on. Hey, at least Football is on tonight! Who’s betting that Green Bay can pull the rug out from Seattle?

Let’s do this.

I forget, did I post this already when it was the Australian trailer? Meh, you don’t care if I post the “official” trailer do you? No, I didn’t think so. Anyone notice that it stars the actor Joel Edgerton who also plays as an Egyptian in a big film coming soon…? (Will I see this? – nope)

Horrible Bosses

I liked the first one and hope that they can pull off what 22 Jump Street was able to accomplish. (Will I see this? – yes)

God Help the Girl

What is everyone’s obsession with Emily Browning? I don’t get it. This trailer doesn’t make me want to see this movie either. Though the quirky kid in it seems like a solid role. (Will I see this? – nope)

The Equalizer

There are many things I like about Denzel … and one of the best things I enjoy is when Denzel is just being a BA. One of my favorites from him is Man on Fire and this looks like it falls in step with that. (Will I see this? – yes)

Cymbeline

I have a soft spot for Shakespeare and the movies that do interpretations of his work. I’ll even admit that I REALLY liked the Romeo & Juliet recreation with Leo in it. Looking at this trailer, could we have one more big name? I’m pulling for this to be better than what the trailer makes it out to be. (Will I see this? – rental)

ABC’s of Death 2

I didn’t see ABC’s of Death 1 … nor did I want to. Perhaps there’s something there that I missed though. Anyone care to clue me in to why this series of mediocre horror flicks are popular enough to go see? (Will I see this? – nope)

Monsters: Dark Continent

I’m sad that I’ve not seen the original Monsters. Trust me – it’s on my list of must watch movies. I know that they’re saying that this isn’t like it at all but it looks very similar to District 9 and I was a HUGE fan of that movie. (Will I see this? – rental)

You’re Not You

Dang it Hilary Swank … you make me cry all the time with your movies. I shouldn’t admit that but I just did. I won’t see this one in theaters, but I might give it a whirl on date night at home with the wife. (Will I see this? – rental)

Looking at these trailers, (especially since none of them are teasers) I’m starting to notice a trend … they’re all too long! The Equalizer had a decent first trailer, but this 2nd one just doesn’t have the same “pizazz” … is that just me or do you guys agree? I like trailers that try and keep the run time to 2 mins or less and anything that goes beyond that shows too much. I think teasers should really be about a full minute or a minute and 15 seconds. I dunno, I just need a trailer/teaser to make me want to see more – not give me all of it.

What do you guys think about this week’s trailers? Any of them peak your interest? Sound off in the comments below. Yeah, I actually want to hear from you. Any trailers I might’ve missed? Take care and enjoy your movie filled weekend!
