Everything You Need to Know About Pokémon GO’s Landorus

Pokemon Go

Pokémon Go is one of the most popular mobile games today that uses GPS and AR to help players simulate the game and find Pokémon. Essentially, the game convinces you to go out and look for new Pokémon as you go about your day. It has a lot of Pokémon and keeps adding more with every update. One of these Pokémon is the Landorus Pokémon GO – one character in the game that every player should know. Are you wondering what the Landorus is and how you can get it? Read on to find out everything you should know about this Pokémon.

What Is the Pokémon Go Landorus?

Landorus is one of the most known Pokémon in the world of Pokémon Go. It is a legendary character found in the Unova region that was introduced in the fifth generation. Generally, Landorus resembles a sage Pokémon sitting and traveling on a cloud. There is no option for evolving it, but the Pokémon comes in two primary forms: Therian Landorus and Incarnate Landorus. Landorus is a high profile Pokémon that any player would be lucky to have in their collection. It is a worthy catch, and you should catch it every chance you get because it is highly impressive. In battle, the Landorus will give you great wrath that will give you immense power against your rival. Landorus is a dual-type Pokémon. Its secondary form, Therian Landorus, is very strong and a great place to start but its secondary form – Incarnate Landorus – looks like a muscular human being that somehow resembles a large, strong genie.

Landorus Stats

As mentioned, Landorus has pretty impressive stats and can be an excellent Pokémon to have in battle. Originally found in the Unova region, it is a legendary Flying and Ground-type Pokémon with 261 attacks, a maximum CP of 4057, 205 stamina, and 182 defense. You can boost your Landorus using Windy and Sunny weather, but the Pokémon is vulnerable to Water and Ice-type moves. Overall, its best moveset lies in Earth, Mud, and Shot power. The main things you should know about Landorus include:

  • · Weaknesses: Water and Ice
  • · Type: Ground and Flying
  • · Boosted Weather: Sunny and Wind
  • · Resistances: Poison, Bug, and Fighting
  • · 100 Percent IVs: 2241 (L20) / 2688 (L25) (Therian Forme)
  • · 100 Percent IVs: 2050 (L20) / 2563 (L25) (Incarnate Forme)

Landorus Counters

Overall, there are two main types that can counter Landorus. While this is somewhat good news, it also means that you have a limited number of strong Pokémon from which to choose. That said, the best counters for the Landorus Pokémon are all water and ice types, which means that it is not very difficult to take down. You will need to enlist more Pokémon for help defeating Landorus. Although Landorus is a dual-flying Pokémon, it does not have any flying moves. Its arsenal only consists of two Ground and two Rock moves in addition to a Dragon and Fighting-type move for extra protection and fighting strength. When fighting Landorus, you should avoid using Poison, Electric, and Fire types. In the event you catch a Landorus Pokémon, you should use a Rock Slide and Mud Short moveset for extra moves and protection. As mentioned, you will also need to use other allies.

Landorus Counters, Weaknesses, and Resistances

Because Landorus Pokémon GO is a Flying-Ground type, it is vulnerable to Ice and Water-types. Several Pokémon fit this description, but there are others that can do the job better than others. Remember that the Pokémon is resistant to Fighting, Bug, Poison, Ground, and Electric types.

How to Take a Snapshot of Landorus

Pokémon just announced its latest event, which went live on March 9, 2021, and gave players enough to do until the next event. The Season of Legends includes one special research task called Searching for Legends. It is the first event of the season and requires you to capture many wild Pokémon, including Drilbur, Nosepass, Baltoy, and many others. While there are many other Special Research Tasks from which to choose, Searching for Legends is one of the most exciting and difficult ones. One crucial task in this segment requires you to take a snapshot of Thundurus, Tornadus, and Landorus. These three Pokémon are the Forces of Nature Trio. If you get to the second part of the season and are required to take a snapshot of Landorus, you will first need to capture it. You must then tap on the Pokémon in your collection and tap on your camera icon to open the AR camera on your game app. This will display Landorus in the world before you, and you can tap the capture button on your phone and take a snapshot to complete the task. Remember, you need to have a Landorus Pokémon to take a snapshot of it. This means that you must first begin by adding it to your collection before attempting to capture it for the task.

How to Get a Landorus

If you know what a Landorus looks like and what it is, the next natural step is to capture it and add it to your Pokémon collection. Landorus – unlike Thundurus and Tornadus – is not included in Pokémon raids as of now, so it can be difficult to capture. In fact, you can only currently obtain Tornadus through Go Battle League Rewards or raids until 8 AM March 11, 2021. From March 11, this Pokémon will be removed from raids and substituted with Thundurus. Because Landorus is not part of the raids at the moment, it is not very easy to obtain it on Pokémon Go. If your collection doesn’t include any, you should consider trading with a trainer to obtain it. Getting this Pokémon will help you complete the Searching for Legends Research Task.

Defeating Landorus in a Raid

According to NewsWeek.com, the new Season of Legends that was released on March 1 on Pokémon Go is a celebration of the game’s most powerful Pokémon – the Legendaries. From the launch date, the Season will present players with a special run of Raids featuring Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus of the Unova region. Each of these will be available to trainers in Legendary Raids for capture and battle for a week from the launch date. Landorus was present in raids from the launch date until March 6, 8 AM – Saturday. If you plan to face off with Landorus in a Pokémon Go raid, you will need to be highly prepared. We have already established that Landorus is a Flying and Ground-type Pokémon, which means it is only vulnerable to Ice and Water-type attacks. However, as is common, some attacks are more effective than others. Ice-type moves are four times more effective against Landorus Pokémon, so you can better your chances of winning by bringing to the raid a Pokémon that can use ice-type attacks. Pokémon Go is a rich game with a wide variety of characters. This means that there is no shortage of Pokémon with Ice and Water-type moves that can help you take down the Landorus Pokémon. You should choose a Mega for a trainer, such as Mega Blastoise and Gyarados, that will power up your water-type moves against Landorus. Of all the options, however, your best shot at victory lies with the best Mega equipped to take in Landorus – Mega Abomasnow. Besides the Mega Pokémon, you can also bring several other water-type and ice-type Pokémon Legendaries to the raid to help you defeat Landorus. Here is a list of the attack trainers and Pokémon you should consider bringing to your battle with Landorus:

  • 1. Galarian Darmanitan with Avalanche and Ice Fang
  • 2. Abomasnow with Weather Ball (Ice) and Powder Snow
  • 3. Mamoswine with Avalanche and Power Snow
  • 4. Cloyster with Avalanche and Frost Breath
  • 5. Articuno with Ice Beam and Frost Breath
  • 6. Weavile with Avalanche and Ice Shard
  • 7. Kyogre with Blizzard and Waterfall
  • 8. Mega Blastoise with Hydro Cannon/Ice Beam and Water Gun
  • 9. Mega Gyarados with Hydro Pump and Waterfall
  • 10. Mega Abomasnow with Weather Ball (Ice) and Power Snow
  • 11. Glaceon with Avalanche and Frost Breath

Pokémon Go Raid Updates

The addition of Landorus to the Unova region brought a new dimension to the Raids in Pokémon Go. Since then, they contain more Ice and Water-type Pokémon that trainers can use to create a team for battle against Legendaries. Since Landorus is a Ground-type Pokémon, it has also brought this type of Pokémon to the Raids. Today, you can expect to see the following Pokémon in Pokémon Go Raids:

Level 1

  • · Espurr
  • · Sneasel
  • · Swinub
  • · Ducklett
  • · Drilbur
  • Level 3
  • · Torterra
  • · Glalie
  • · Donphan
  • · Whiscash
  • · Gligar

Landorus

Mega Raids in Pokémon Go will usually feature the three Mega Pokémon: Mega Blastoise, Mega Ampharos, and Mega Pidgeot. As you can see, you have a wide array of Pokémon from which to create a team when going up against Landorus.

How to Catch Landorus

According to IGN’s Pokémon Wiki, Landorus can only be caught as other legendary Pokémon are caught – in Pokémon Go’s five-star raids. This Ground-type Pokémon was available during the first week of the Pokémon Go Season of Legends event. This means that if you wish to capture it, you will have to wait for the Game’s next event. When you finally spot Landorus in a raid, you can capture it in the Pokémon Go Battle League (rank 20 encounters). Alternatively, you can trade for it in a Special Trade. This is a great way to add Landorus to your Pokedex if it is currently unavailable in 5-star raids.

Catching a Shiny Landorus

While many players hype the shiny Landorus, it is not very different from Pokémon’s standard form. This, nonetheless, does not dispirit players from going out of their way to capture it. If you are looking for a shiny Landorus, you can easily obtain it as you would any other legendary Pokémon that has a shiny version. There is a 5 percent chance it will appear when you complete a raid. If it appears, use your Pinap Berry to capture it. Don’t worry; the Shiny Landorus has a 100 percent catch rate.

Latest News About Landorus

Pokémon Go has made the Incarnate Forme of Landorus available for capture several times since its introduction to the game. Most recently, it was part of raids between March 1 and March 6 2021. While this Forme is not available for capture at the moment, you can always trade for it if you want to add it to your collection but don’t wish to wait for another raid. Superparent.com reports that Pokémon Go’s developer recently released a schedule that shows you when the Therian Formed of Tornadus and Thundurus will be available on the game. Thundurus was present in Raids between March 16 and March 30, and Therian began appearing in battle from March 30 this year. Since the three make up the Legendary Forces of Nature trio and tend to alternate places in Raids, you can use the released schedule to predict when the next Landorus will be available. You can then capture it, add it to your Pokémon collection and use it to complete Special Research tasks. Remember, Legendary Pokémon are only ever available in Pokémon Raids for a limited amount of time – say seven days. This means that, once Landorus becomes available, you will need to act fast to capture it.

Bottom Line

As established, Landorus Pokémon GO is a Ground and Flying-type Pokémon that was introduced to Pokémon Go in the Unova region in the fifth generation. Alongside Thundurus and Tornadus, it forms the Legendary Forces of Nature trio and is a very powerful Legendary Pokémon. Its stats are also highly impressive, which makes it a great Pokémon to have in your collection. Now that you understand its counters, weaknesses, and moveset, you can capture it or fight it in battle. You can also capture its shiny version. Remember, Landorus does not evolve but appears in two forms: Therian and Incarnate Forme. The former was added to the game in April of 2021 during an event that ran from April 13 to April 18.
