Lifelike Avatar Babies Are Just a Tad Creepy

Halloween may be over but this certain qualifies as something that would have been perfect on October 31st.  Regardless of the date I’m a little creeped out right now.   The reason is because of the picture above.   These are the creation of Spain-based realistic baby maker Babyclon.  They are called “Avatar babies” and their realness is already giving me nightmares even though I’m awake as I write this.  Why there’s even a realistic baby making company is a little freaky let alone babies made to look like miniature Avatar Na’vi characters.

The babies are made entirely from silicone, cost $2,000 apiece, and give me the willies.  Look below and you’ll see a video of somebody playing with them in case you weren’t sure how messed up these things are.   I mean is this supposed to be a template for AI or something?  Like, are we going to create whatever babies we want for the real world?  What the hell is the reason behind this?
