Google Celebrates Kandinsky’s 148th Birthday With Doodle
Google has marked the 148th birthday of Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky with a doodle. Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky (1866-1944) was an influential Russian painter and art theorist. He is credited with painting one of the first purely abstract works.
Born in Moscow, Kandinsky spent his childhood in Odessa. He began painting at the age of 3. He claimed that using colour was a valid art form in itself and that it did not need to be used to define recognisable forms and objects.
