Fortnite to Add Third Round of Street Fighter Content

Fortnite street fighter third round content

Fortnite originally added “Street Fighter” characters during one of their most collaborative efforts ever that featured numerous different franchises from across the video game universe and beyond being brought to the island. From there Epic Games added a second round of fighters from “Street Fighter” later that year and now a third round of even more fighters from the popular fighting franchise are to set to come to the island along with other content. Below, we’ve gone into detail on the cosmetics and more coming to “Fortnite” from the third round of “Street Fighter” content headed to the island, along with the rest of the content included with this continued collaboration.

Previous Fortnite Street Fighter Content

While this is the third “Street Fighter” drop to step on the Fortnite island, none of the sets have disappointed as they have all included quite the vast amount of content each from outfits and back blings, to alternate styles and more. The First Fortnite “Street Fighter” drop included two of the most popular characters from the franchise, Ryu and Chun-Li, of course along with some themed additional cosmetics to pull the theme together as much as possible. Items included in the first “Street Fighter” drop, Ryu and Chun-Li, included a back bling for each of the two outfits, and a loading screen. The second drop of the “Street Fighter” set, Cammy and Guile, similar to the first drop, included the two outfits and a loading screen but otherwise was quite different from the first “Street Fighter” set drop as each new outfit having a built-in emote as well as they respective back blings. Overall, the first two “Street Fighter” drops were each interesting in their own way and called to fans of the franchise but the third round of “Street Fighter” content to come to the Fortnite island was announced to come with much more than just outfits and cosmetics.

Third Round of Street Fighter Content Incoming

The third round of Fortnite “Street Fighter” content to arrive on the island was announced to be expected to hit the item shop April 28th when the item shop refreshes but that’s not all Epic Games announced when it came to the third round of “Street Fighter” content that’s set to include Blanka and Sakura. Everything included in the third drop of “Street Fighter” content is set to feature the two above mentioned outfits as well as other goodies for fans of the franchise that are by far the most meta “Street Fighter” releases so far, which made sense given the franchises approaching 35th anniversary. Other cosmetics included in the third set of “Street Fighter” content consists of a pickaxe per outfit, built-in emote for each outfit, and alternate styles each. However, unlike previous “Street Fighter” content drops on the Fortnite island, one of the forthcoming outfits includes a glider while the other does not. Specifically, while the Blanka outfit is set to include the original outfit with a built-in emote, a pickaxe and alternate style, the accompanying Sakura outfit will be set to include its own version of those items, as well as have the glider included. Overall, the third drop of “Street Fighter” content set to arrive on the Fortnite island seemed to have the most content attached to it, but there’s more for fans outside of the cosmetics announced.

Events Added with Street Fighter Content

While the above mentioned outfits, previously and upcoming, have included plenty of content for fans that wish to acquire said items, there’s even more to be enjoyed before that. Leading up to the item shop release of the third drop of “Street Fighter” content, players can participate in one of two Blanka and Sakura Cup events in order to unlock an exclusive loading screen but coming in the top 25% of the tournament per region. There will be a total of two tournaments for players to join in order to unlock the loading screen with the first of which being a mobile exclusive zero build tournament and the second being an all platform battle royale solo cup for the same prize. As with all other Fortnite tournaments and cups, players must have 2FA, two-factor authentication, activated on their account in order to participate. Overall, while there are a vast number of “Street Fighter” Fortnite collaborations now, each coming from their own definitive set, are all apart of not only the “Street Fighter” set but also the Gaming Legends set which has included video game related cosmetics from franchises such as “Halo”, “Rocket League”, “God of War” and others, with more surely to come later.
