Father Builds Battlemech Treehouse
When I was a kid, practically all the trees in my yard were pine, and past that, building codes didn’t allow for anyone to build actual treehouses in our neighborhood. So instead, my dad built me a wooden climbing castle in our basement, that was a rough collection of wood beams and blanks with little structure or form.
And it was awesome. As a kid, your imagination can fill in the gaps, and I loved my weird wooden palace the way these kids probably love their life-size mechwarrior. Seriously, that’s one way to get around a treehouse ban, I suppose.
Rumor has it this was actually built by a NASA engineer for his kids, which is about the only thing that makes sense. Does it move? I hope it moves.
