Video Game Villainy

If you could pick the most iconic villains in video game history, I’m guessing that all five of these guys would come up on your list by the time your reached the top ten. This artist’s rendition of all of them shows them in a new, wicked light that most of them haven’t seen before. I’m trying to figure out who exactly drew this so I can see if he’s covered anyone else.
Where are the villainous ladies in the video game world? There are a few, but unfortunately none as legendary as any of these. If you had to put a few female baddies in your list, who would it be? I don’t think Jesse from Team Rocket is quite evil enough to make the cut, but I’m thinking there are a few figures from Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy, but there are few, if any, truly iconic female villains that would rank up there with these five.
Does Glados count as a woman?
that’s a good painting, but I don’t think I’d count Wario in the same evil vein as the rest, he’s more greedy than pure evil..
as for lady villains…I don’t know, Mother Brain perhaps?
Kerrigan (starcraft), the dark Queen (battletoads), Glados, Jenova (FFVII)…. The hell we need more evil women. I don’t know if Lamb from Bioshock 2 or the british woman from uncharted 3 were memorable.

What about Grunty from Banjo Kazooie? Kotake and Koume from Zelda? Sarah Kerrigan from Starcraft? Commandant Steele from Borderlands? Myrrah from Gears of War? I guess that GLaDOS counts…? … just to name a few…

As for the ladies, Sarah Kerrigan from the original starcraft definitely makes the cut.
I agree with all of these except replace Wario with Dr. Wily, and then you have a real top 5.

wario shouldnt be there, dr. wiley (megaman), GLaDOS(portal 1 and 2), ghetsis(pokemon black and white), and maybe dr. lamb(bioshock 2). just a few suggestions.
I’d replace Wario with Sephiroph from FFVII who probably fits the description of wanting to watch the world burn more than any of the villains up there, most just want to rule, not destroy
replace Wario with Giovanni, then add Sephiroth, and this is the right list.

As far as I know, only Robotnik and Ganondorf want to watch the world burn. I don’t know much on Bison, but Wario is just a greedy bastard, but if there is something between what he wants, he will destroy it, whether its a hero saving the world, or a villian destroying it. Bowser just wants a woman. Ganondorf wants to send the world into a dark age full of terrible demons and misfortune, while he rules with supreme power, and Robotnik similarly seems to want supreme power in his search for the master emerald and his odd desire to turn every living creature into a robot minion.
@ an earlier post by Javier, Mother brain is an artificial intelligence unit programmed with a female gender, but lacks a sex. But hey I say fill in the blank, its closer to female. Definitely wants to watch the world burn, or at least watch it not exist anymore. Hell, the whole universe.
Who are these characters?
People were mentioning Sephiroth and other Final Fantasy villains, but no one mentioned Kefka. He wanted to “create monument to nonexistence.” Given that a lot of old school gamers prefer 6 to 7, I think he’s right up there in the discussion.
