The Simpsons are Ready

No, I don’t believe this is an official couch gag (though I couldn’t tell you as I haven’t watched the show in five years), but it’s a great illustration nonetheless.

Like The Simpsons here, I am also fully prepared for Diablo III. I pre-bought it through Blizzard and it’s already downloaded on my computer, just waiting to be installed on launch day. What? I don’t want to waste four hours download 7 gigs of game the day of launch. I’m already taking off that day of work to play (though with pre-posting article, you’ll never know).

Anyone taking time off from an actual office job to play Diablo? There’s got to be a few of you out there.

I got home around 9 or 10 PM every night, so I only had the energy to play about an hour of videogames before going to bed. I recently moved out of the house and into Manhattan, about 15 minutes from where I work. Not because it’s more convenient and I get more sleep, but because Diablo 3 is coming out and I need all the time I can get to play. I essentially am paying $1200 a month just to play one game. And people complain about $15 a month for MMORPG service.”

  2. We’re having finals this friday. Gonna pre-install the game. Wait till tue. Skip school the whole week after Diablo III is release. Professor at my university may notice a trend of students skipping their class for a week. I got like 7 people in my batch including me who are gonna go awol after tuesday next week. lol

  3. Personally, beyond the story, I don’t have much interest in diablo 3, as I find it a little underwhelming in terms of gameplay compared to diablo 2. (this isn’t to say I wanted it to be diablo 2, I just dont like a lot of the gameplay decisions they made.)

I’m going to wait till it comes down in price.

  4. I would take the day off but I’m afraid to. You know about the errors during the open Beta testing? Well, I am afraid that it’ll go down again when the game goes Live. IMO, I think Blizzard made a bad call to have this game constantly signed on. We will see and I hope I eat my words.

  5. My kids have a half day next Thursday and then they’re out. I was at a much different place when D2 and D2X came out but I’m going to try to revive some of those memories with a day off on the 16th. I used some Amazon credit or I’d have gone the download route…sort of regretting now that I’ll have to do the install… Draugr, you know that’s likely to be a pretty long wait, right?

  6. I actually took next Wed off. That will give me all night Tuesday until I pass out and the whole day on Wed to play. That was my strategy for ME3 and it worked out great. This has the added benefit of a reduced chance of having my day off be filled wih lag or other launch issues.

    6 days…
