The Most Memorable Guns From Ratchet And Clank

Ratchet and Clank are known for two things. Saving the galaxy and their guns. Well Ratchet is also the last living Lombax and Clank is a talking robot, but we just can’t ignore that they are constantly saving the galaxy and doing so with guns that we thought we’d only seen in our dreams. If at all. The guns in Ratchet and Clank have the heart of the series and have evolved throughout the years. When the original Ratchet and Clank came out, the guns you would buy would stay how they were until the end of the game where you were given the option to buy gold versions of the guns which were even more ridiculously powerful. As the series progressed so did the guns. Now you can upgrade your guns multiple times and completely change their dynamics. It’s no longer just one and done after the purchase. Now you can work on leveling up your guns. Some of the games even began to add different components so that players could customize guns to their playstyle. We wanted to go down memory lane and remember the guns that left an impact on us. These are some of the most memorable in Ratchet and Clank.

Mr. Zurkon

Mr. Zurkon has gone on to appear in multiple games and win the hearts of many. It’s a weapon that summons a tiny robot that acts as your bodyguard. His clever quips and relentless pursuit for the player’s safety have made him a staple in the arsenal of many. Not only does Mr. Zurkon protect the player but he is also a family bot. In some games when upgraded he brings along Zurkon Jr and Mrs. Zurkon. There is even a boss battle with Mrs. Zurkon where she is turned evil by Dr. Nefarious.

Buzz Blades

The Buzz Blades are a staple in the ratchet and clank franchise and have appeared in almost every game since Tools of Destruction. It’s a straightforward gun that shoots out multiple buzz blades that can ricochet and hit multiple targets. Its rate of fire makes it one of the best guns in the game for taking down big enemies since each shot gets multiple hits. It’s like blasting your opponent with thousands of mini chainsaws.

Groovitron

The Groovitron is a weapon that can get you out of any situation you’re in and let you look cool doing it. It makes every enemy in your area break out into dance. There is so much love that has gone into this weapon. Most enemies in the game have their unique dance so it’s funny to just go around everywhere using the Groovitron to see what kind of dances you can see.

Ryno

The most iconic weapon in Ratchet and Clank, and one that has been in almost every entry of the series, is the Ryno. The Ryno was first introduced by a sketchy salesman, but now it’s grown to be the biggest powerhouse in the galaxy. Players usually pull out this weapon when they want to make quick work of their enemies. Each iteration is different but they all do massive damage.

Combuster

The Combuster might as well be called old reliable. It’s your everyday blaster that can be used for almost any occasion. It’s enough to get almost any job done and it’s usually one of the first weapons you start with.

Walloper

The Walloper packs a punch. It’s a silver punching glove that you can one-shot most enemies in the game. It’s a little bit different than other weapons in the game since it does work as a close-quarters melee weapon. But it’s a lot of fun and players will welcome the change of pace.

Suck Cannon

The Suck Cannon lets you suck up enemies and shoot them back at other enemies. It’s the ultimate sign of disrespect for your enemies.

Bouncer

Have you ever been afraid of bouncy balls? What about millions of exploding bouncy balls? Well, the Bouncer does. It shoots out one giant bounce ball that explodes into tinier bounce balls that also explode into tinier bounce balls. It’s a dangerous cycle that takes down even the strongest of foes.

Pixelator

The Pixelator does exactly what you think it does. It takes enemies back a few generations to the 8 Bit era. Your enemies will turn into 8-bit versions of themselves for a few seconds when they get blasted with the Pixelator. Like the Groovitron, it’s one of those weapons that you want to just take around to every enemy so you can see how they look.

Glove of Doom

This is as dangerous as weapons get. The Glove of Doom allows you to deploy Agents of Doom that seek out enemies and just obliterate them. They explode on contact and look vicious while doing so. Doesn’t that sound terrifying? Just a bunch of little robotic-looking monsters running at you while only thinking about self-destructing on you.

Predator Launcher

Everyone needs a rocket launcher in their arsenal. It just makes sense. It helps take down groups of enemies and it also packs a punch. Through the Ratchet and Clank series, we’ve seen multiple versions of rocket launchers but none of them leave us feeling nostalgic like the Predator Launcher does.

Morph O Ray

It wouldn’t be Ratchet and Clank without some wackiness in it. The Morph O Ray is a gun that has gone on to inspire different versions throughout the series but the general premise has stayed the same. It turned your enemies into chickens. The back story behind this weapon is that Gadgetron tried to create a disintegrating ray but something went wrong which caused it to morph enemies into chickens instead. It’s a lot of fun to use and in the original Ratchet and Clank, you can buy a gold version of the gun which allows you to turn your enemies into giant chickens. These chickens would then be easy targets for Ratchet who could turn them into a puff of feathers with one swing of his wrench.
