The 25 Greatest Unscripted Scenes in Film
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTFQBHBeleE
Usually this would be a list broken into 25 pieces with few videos to actually be found, but mercifully it’s all just one six minute segment, in which each scene in question is expertly hunted down and posted.
It really is amazing, the power of improvisation. As you’ll see in many of these movies, the most famous scenes or lines in the entire feature often came as a result of improv, and it goes to show that going off script every so often shouldn’t necessary be frowned upon.
Which of this is your favorite? It had to be “Like tears in rain” for me.
There no way I’d ever be able to keep a straight face with R. Lee Ermey spouting off in drill instructor mode.
How was it that there was nothing from “District 9” on that list?
The phone booth scene in Rain Man was improvised. “Uh oh, fart. Uh oh, fart.” Dustin Hoffman actually farted and he stayed in character and Tom Cruise reacted to Dustin Hoffman.
Not a single scene from Spinal Tap??? I’m sorry, but the initial interview scene with the band discussing the deaths of their drummers, and the two word album review for Shark Sandwich. That stomps at least 4 of the other scenes you have here. Not to mention “It goes to Eleven”.
Tears in rain would probably be my choice as well.
Isn’t the scene where Indiana Jones decides to shoot the sword sword swinging bad guy instead of fight him in Raiders of the Lost Ark an improvisation? That seems kind of a huge leave out if you ask me.
Well deserved first place.
