Superhero Horror: The Flying Man
The Flying Man from Marcus Alqueres on Vimeo.
I’ve been on something of a short films kick lately, as I’ve read a few of Remy’s lists now that cover the topic, and have found them to be quite cool. But now it’s my turn to point one out, and I choose “The Flying Man,” by Marcus Alqueres.
I really just love the concept. What if a superhero suddenly appeared and started murdering criminals without ever showing his face or saying a word? It’s a rather terrifying, thrilling idea for a movie, and I wish I thought of it.
The film above is a short about a pair of criminals being stalked by the man, and I hope we see more from the idea in the future . Would really love a high concept superhero film not based on existing comic character. Like a horror version of Super, which is awesome by the way if you haven’t seen it.
omg man, what happened to the website layout. I was treated to this UGLY start page that led me to the regular looking page. this isnt the way its gonna be from now on is it. Please change it back. Maybe its just an anomally what im seeing but if it isnt,,,,its NOT the same!
wierd, i just viewed the site again and it back to its regular AWESOME self. np my bad,,,,erase what I just typed 🙂
This is what Hancock should have been IMO
Its kind of sad that superheromovies always limits themselves to the heroes point of view. There is no mystery to who he is, why he does what he does or what code of ethics he work by.
Shut up, crime! This was absolutely amazing. Like Irredeemable and Death note had a baby. Pray it gets made into feature length film and we’ll see if there really is a God.
Wasn’t Chronicle a superhero movie not based on any pre-existing characters? I never saw it, but I thought that’s what it was.
