Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Confirmed Pokemon
“Pokemon Scarlet” and Pokemon Violet were announced by The Pokemon Company in February of 2022 and will be the next, and 9th, generation of Pokemon, bringing a new region and a new Pokedex with it, along with new starters, Legendaries, and so much more. While new mechanics such as evolution, HMs, or similar abilities seem to be lacking still as far as confirmed information goes, however, several Pokemon have been confirmed and are even viewable on the official website for “Pokemon Scarlet” and “Pokemon Violet”. Below, we’ve gone into detail on the Pokemon revealed, and confirmed, so far for “Pokemon Scarlet” and “Pokemon Violet”, as well as touch upon some leaks and possible evolutions of the new starters, which are unconfirmed.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Like most, if not all, Pokemon games, “Pokemon Scarlet” and “Pokemon Violet” have been a mostly well-kept secret besides a few leaks here and there but overall, the game has not been truly revealed as much still hasn’t been shown in leaks outside of possible mechanics, plots, and Pokemon types of starters. The game will introduce the 9th generation of new Pokemon, as well as introduce a new region for players to explore, however, so far with official information it has seemed that the game will most resemble “Pokemon Sword” and “Pokemon Shield” mixed with the semi-open-world and overall mechanics of “Pokemon Legends: Arceus” with how players will truly encounter and interactive with wild Pokemon.
Pokemon Confirmed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
While “Pokemon Scarlet” and “Pokemon Violet” were only announced in February of this year, the games were immediately introductory to the newest starters and Legendaries set to appear in the upcoming games. Among the Pokemon immediately confirmed were 5 Pokemon in total, but since the initial announcement of the games, a second trailer has dropped that showed off 3 additional more basic Pokemon that players will likely encounter early in their journey.
Starter Pokemon Confirmed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
To start, we’ll go over some of the most pivotal and favored Pokemon among them all, the starters, otherwise known as your first partner Pokemon, although for most players it’s about the hundredth. Among these starters, the types have always been Grass, Fire, and Water, except for “Pokemon Yellow” when players were forcefully assigned a Pikachu as their partner. The confirmed starter Pokemon announced include strictly their base forms, with players left to wait for the official reveal of details to know anything further. What we do know about the starters still remains as Sprigatito as the Grass-type, Fuecoco as the Fire-type, and Quaxly as the Water-type. Recently we dove into the possibilities of the future types of the new starters with Sprigatito as a possible Grass/Fairy, Fuecoco as a possible Ground/Fire, and Quaxly as a possible Steel/Water type. Anything beyond this information and a small Pokedex entry has still been hidden from players looking to get involved with the game upon release.
Legendary Pokemon Confirmed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
As for the Legendary Pokemon that players will encounter, Koraidon in “Pokemon Scarlet” and Miraidon in “Pokemon Violet” respectively, the types of those Pokemon have been a complete mystery but as the Legendary Pokemon, more often than not, have given an appearance of a dragon or have been an actual Dragon-type. These two upcoming Pokemon games appear to be no different with both Pokemon largely sharing dragon appearance features while also having hints of other possible types they could be. While leaks have pointed out that these Pokemon will be rideable as with some recent, previous Pokemon games, Koraidon so far has been the larger mystery out of the two Legendaries when it came to their type, but equally, neither of these Pokemon have a true description on the website for the upcoming Pokemon games so the types are a complete mystery.
Other Pokemon Confirmed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Finally, we have the most simple Pokemon announced for the future title, Pawmi, Lechonk, and Smoliv, that have fans excited over their cuteness, but the Pokemon will likely be among those found along the way to the Elite Four and also swapped into the PC before that time actually comes over a Pokemon with stronger potential. However, we’ve gone over the three additional Pokemon announced for the upcoming Pokemon games, “Pokemon Scarlet” and “Pokemon Violet”. To start, we’ve gone into detail on this generation’s newest Electric mouse Pokemon, Pawmi. Although the Pokemon is Electric-type and has been classified as a mouse Pokemon, it more closely resembles a bear versus a mouse, like Pikachu. Second, we have Lechonk, a hog Pokemon, classified within the Normal-type, but judging my appearance and from the past, this Pokemon may either remain Normal or pick up the Fairy or Ground-type, and gender has made its own differences between Pokemon appearance and evolution in the past and may be seen here as well. Finally, the last Pokemon announced with the second trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet very much resembles a generation 4 Pokemon, Budew. Although the Pokemon has a similar appearance to the combination of Ditto and Budew, the description provided for the Pokemon so far bears no resemblance to the previous Pokemon, but as a Grass/Normal-type, that could change or it could still mirror Budew in a way. Other classic Pokemon such as Pikachu also appeared in the second trailer for “Pokemon Scarlet” and “Pokemon Violet”, but we only included Pokemon entirely new and confirmed.
