Open Sesame! Goodbye Transit Cards?
I recently stumbled upon this Kickstarter project launched by two MIT undergraduates (who else??) called Sesame ring. I thought that it would be cool to share it with everyone here. I absolutely love the idea behind this technology since I’m always travelling within New York City. Sometimes I lose my transit card, spend too much time looking for it, or it fell from my pocket while getting my phone. Sadly, this is only being developed for the city of Boston in the United States. However, this is definitely something to be excited about.
Some people say that the ring is too big and can be easily stolen. Give it some slack, it’s still in its early ages. If this comes to New York, I bet it’ll make me feel like a Planeteer during my commute as I hear ‘the power is yours’ echoing in my head.
It still has 15 days to go, but it already surpassed their goal. Check them out here.
