My Metal Gear Jacket Arrives at Last
A week ago I wrote a post describing a new clothing line that Konami was releasing that drew from the militaristic world of Metal Gear Solid for inspiration. I never buy clothes anymore, but I was immediately taken with the “Field shirt,” which I bought straight. I’ll normally claim that I’d like to purchase stuff I feature on the site here, but I actually did it this time. The last occasion this happened was for the Modern Warfare Ghost ski mask that I use to intimidate fellow skiers while I’m falling down the mountain.
So is it worth it? Well I took a few pictures so you can see for yourself. I dig it, but I had some rather annoying problems getting it here. It arrived last week, in a size XS, which nowhere near fit me, and I was informed that yes, I could get a refund if I mailed it back. That’s well and good, but I still had to pay the original $10 in shipping, it was $17 for UPS to send it back, and if I wanted a new one, it was another $10 in shipping. So my $70 jacket is now over $100 because of THEIR mistake. They claimed they were a “new company” and didn’t have procedures in place to refund me for shipping. I would understand if I just changed my mind and wanted a refund, but they screwed up my order, and it cost me $27 extra. And I’m still waiting for them to refund my original $70, as in the meantime, I paid an additional $70 for a new one because I didn’t feel like waiting 30 days to get my money back as by then it will (hopefully) be too warm to wear it.
I believe the problem was that when I added the shirt to my cart, it was an XS, and I changed it to a M from there (though M showed up on my e-mail confirmation). Just make sure it’s the right size before you add it into the cart. Perhaps they’ll see this post and send me a free shirt for my troubles….

The stuff on the sleeve snaps off if you don’t like it.

But I gotta make a comment on the fact that it seems all the pictures of yourself that you feature on the site are always from the nose down. What’s up with that? Do you have eyes similar to those of Sloth from the goonies? Are you afraid of too many “hey you guys!” comments?
Hah, I suppose I’m trying to keep an “air of mystery” but I’ve featured my full self on the site before like this past Halloween. Google Image me if you’re that curious. Hopefully I’m at least one notch about Sloth.
they don’t ship the the UK, i’m gutted.
Honestly, you should have gone a size smaller. It looks okay, but nothing special. I would have ordered a couple of t’s for the price of that jacket.
I ordered it too after seeing your post, and it’s pretty sweet. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience getting it ordered, I ordered mine on a Monday morning as an XL and got it in Texas 2 days later without having to pay for any kind of extra shipping…so I couldn’t be happier.
Now to wait at least 8 more months for it to MAYBE be cold enough for a 230 lb part Saquatch to wear it in South Central Texas……..good timing eh?
They charge that much and it didn’t include Snake’s headband?
You never buy clothes anymore? I guess you’ve stopped growing and you just wear all the same clothes now? 😛
Awesome jacket. But even cooler was the link to your older post that I missed about the ski-masks. AWESOME! I am ordering two. The Dark Knight Joker and Sub Zero. Great find on both of these.

if the product was defective (your bill says M after all) you can change it or ask the money back and they HAVE to refund all shipping you have to pay for that. And dont accept credits for future buys, they have to pay with money baby. just saying, for the next shop
Hello, I just wondered if the ‘shirt’ is thick like a jacket, cause it looks like it is (even though it is called “field shirt”), or if it is slim like a normal shirt.

what is the thickness of this? is it more like jacket feel? or a shirt with thin linings.

would really like to know if the thickness is pretty good as i would like to wear it as a semi jacket during cold weather.
