Life Imitates Pixar: A Full Scale Up House Replica

It takes a lot to get noticed in today’s competitive and cutthroat economy, but Bangerter Homes, a housing developer, got a bright idea that would get them noticed. And the fact that you’re seeing them here today is a pretty good indication that it worked.

They’ve constructed a full scale replica of Carl and Elie’s House from Up, after seeking permission from Disney of course. As you can see, the outside is pretty identical, but it didn’t stop there. I have  bunch more picures below that shows how EVERYTHING is trying to mirror the film, from the mailbox to the painting above the mantle.

The interior is still a work in progress, but you can get a pretty good idea of what it’s going to look like if you check out the other pics below.

Now, someone needs to build a working replica of that spaceship from Wall-E, and then we’ll be talking.

I don’t know if I would call it “sad,” but you are right about the Pixar versions being more real than the real house. If anything though, I think that is a testament to how well Pixar can create vivid backdrops and scnery with their current techniques. Yes, they have life-like trees, houses, cities, etc, but they still maintain their cartoonishness through the characters.
