Here are Some PS5 Games Rumored to Be in Development

No one knows when the PS5 will be released. However, there can be no doubt about the fact that it is coming at some point in the future. After all, Sony has stated that the PS4 has reached the end of its life cycle, meaning that it is reasonable to expect that it is making something to serve as a successor. Moreover, there have been a number of statements from various figures of relevance that suggest that even if the PS5 isn’t already being made, Sony is looking into the matter at the very least. Based on this, it should come as no surprise to learn that there is plenty of speculation about the games that are being developed for the system, which may or may not be rooted in reality. Here are some examples of PS5 games that are rumored to be in development:

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red’s Witcher games met with huge success. As a result, there is enormous interest in its upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, particularly since it is looking quite good in its own right. Initially, people thought that Cyberpunk 2077 was bound to be a next-generation game based on various factors such as its beautiful graphics and its open-ended nature. However, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it is supposed to be released for current-generation consoles. With that said, there are still plenty of people who think that Cyberpunk 2077 will be making it onto next-generation consoles anyways because it is a natural choice for next-generation ports.

Death Stranding

The making of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain resulted in a split between Konami and Hideo Kojima. However, Kojima remains active in the video game industry, as shown by how he and his reformed studio are now in the process of making Death Stranding. There is no indication of when Death Stranding will be released, which is one of the reasons that interested individuals think that it could be coming out for both the PS4 and the PS5.

Final Fantasy VII

Square Enix is bound to put some serious effort into the Final Fantasy VII remake. After all, the original version was one of the games that popularized JRPGs in the west, meaning that a remake that didn’t live up to its reputation would be a huge letdown. With that said, there is pretty much no chance that the Final Fantasy VII remake is coming out for the current generation, not least because the director Tetsuya Nomura got distracted by his involvement with Kingdom Hearts III. However, there is a good chance that the Final Fantasy VII remake will make it out in time for the PS5 barring some kind of unforeseeable mishap that will send its release date even further into the future.

Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima is another excellent example of a game that is being made for the PS4 but is believed by some people to be one of the titles that will be ported over to the PS5 once said console becomes available. For those who are unfamiliar with it, the game is supposed to be an action-adventure game set on the titular island during the first Mongol Invasion of Japan. Much of the action will be of a very straightforward nature, but it is interesting to note that the information that has been released so far make it clear that there will be plenty of stealth elements as well.

The Elder Scrolls VI

We know that The Elder Scrolls VI is coming at some point in time. In fact, the title has even had a teaser released for it. However, we also know that The Elder Scrolls VI won’t be released until further into the future. This is because Bethesda is currently focusing its efforts on Starfield, so much so that it has stated that it won’t be shifting its focus to The Elder Scrolls VI until Starfield has had its release. Given that a release date hasn’t even been named for Starfield at this point in time, it seems safe to say that The Elder Scrolls VI won’t be coming until years and years later. Something that could put it at the perfect time for the release of the PS5.
