“That Guy” Actor of the Week: Frank Vincent
Have you ever noticed that since the 70s nearly all the same guys have appeared in gangster movies? I mean literally. They’re all just much older now. It’s like directors in Hollywood have this list called “dudes that look like they’re in organized crime” and pick from it. If this list truly existed then Frank Vincent would definitely be near the very top.
His first movie credit was in 1976 but it was Raging Bull in 1980 where Vincent first splashed onto the scene. After that? Check out this guy’s resume. It’s unbelievable. Over 50% of his roles are “gangster-like” and at least 75% having him playing a guy with an Italian name.
At least this guy will never run out of a job…well that’s assuming gangster movies will always be made and I’m pretty sure that will be the case.
My favorite Vincent moment

Billy Batts!
That was a great post Madison, no, really I liked how it was written and everything, you’re really goin’ somewhere with this writin’ thing. All the way…Now go home and get your f*ckin’ shine box !
XDDD
Great article, Great scene !
My bad Natty…oh boy am I gonna get it now…Sorry Natty..
I was happy to see Vincent get a major heel role toward the end of The Sopranos, based primarily on “Hey, that’s Billy Batts!” He was also always my pick for if they ever put Carmine Falcone in a Batman picture, though Tom Wilkinson wound up doing a great job at that.
@ Ugo Strange
You’re a f*ckin’ disgrace!
(hope you got that reference, because of course I got yours)
