Every Major Fortnite Collaboration Ranked From Worst to Best

Fortnite crossover skins

There have been a countless number of crossovers within the Epic Games hit Fortnite, ranging from Marvel to Rocket League, but which major Fortnite collaboration was the best? This list is based on the collaboration-specific Limited Time Modes, skins, as well as other cosmetics that became available as a part of the collaboration or bundle available in the Fortnite item shop.

17. Fortnite x Ghostbusters

Fortnite collaboration with Ghostbusters

Coming in last, we’ve got the Fortnite x Ghostbusters collaboration. While the cosmetics available were really cool, we didn’t even get any of the original Ghostbusters like Venkman, Egon, Winston, or even Ray! Hell, we didn’t even get any of the characters from the 2016 reboot. To add salt on the wound, along with the fact we just got reskinned Fortnite character models, we didn’t even get a Limited Time Mode (LTM) for the collab! How cool would it have been to have a 50v50 match with two teams split into Ghosts and Busters? Given the fact that it was released around Halloween, a perfect time to bust some ghosts, this was really a wasted opportunity.

16. Fortnite x Jordan

Fortnite collaboration with Air Jordan

The first Fortnite collaboration on this list to actually include an exclusive LTM, the Fortnite x Jordan collaboration featured a couple of new skins showing off some sweet Nike Air Jordans. The Downtown Drop LTM pitted players against each other on a parkour course with the goal of dodging obstacles and collecting gold coins. This collab also included set challenges in which players had to complete objectives to earn XP and collect cosmetics.

15. Fortnite x NFL

Fortnite collaboration with NFL

Fortnite meets the NFL in this collaboration! Somehow Epic Games was able to get skins for every major NFL football team in the game. If you purchased one of the skins, you have the option to fully customize the team as well as the number on the back of the jersey. The NFL Rumble LTM was also introduced with this Fortnite collaboration and was a riff on the Rumble game mode in which two teams of 20 players fight for the first to reach 100 eliminations. The catch? Each team in NFL Rumble is fitted with either a Patriots or Rams jersey in preparation for the 2019 Super Bowl in which both of these teams were participating.

14. Fortnite x Aquaman

Fortnite collaboration with Aquaman

Another shocking skin addition to the ever-growing list of Fortnite collaborations, the Fortnite x Aquaman collab gave players the ability to complete 5 maritime Challenges to unlock the Aquaman Outfit. Based on the 2018 hit film costume rather than a comic accurate Aquaman costume, this was actually one of the coolest skins I’ve seen in the game. Unfortunately for me, I hadn’t played that season, so I missed out big time. Aquaman’s arch-nemesis, Black Manta, was also available for a limited time in the Fortnite item shop!

13. Fortnite x Captain America

Captain America skin

One of the first of many Marvel themed skins in the game, Captain America was introduced on July 2, 2020. Cap was available in the item shop along with his Proto-Adamantium Pickaxe and Back Bling! The cool thing about this is that you have the option to either wield his shield as your harvesting tool or toss it on your back in good ole’ Captain America fashion. Unfortunately, he didn’t come with an LTM, but this would change later on down the road.

12. Fortnite x Stranger Things

Stranger Things Set

Another surprising collab, Stranger Things made its way to Fortnite on July 4, 2019. Available in the item shop, the Stranger Things set included the Chief Hopper and Demogorgon outfits as well as the Vines Wrap! You don’t really see either of these skins anymore which is a shame since the Demogorgon skin is actually one of the most unique skins in the game. Maybe they’ll resurface when Stranger Things season 4 comes out?

11. Fortnite x Last Laugh

Last Laugh Bundle

Another DC pack of cosmetics, the Fortnite Last Laugh bundle includes The Joker Outfit, Laugh Riot Back Bling, Bad Joke Pickaxe, The Joker’s Revenge Pickaxe, Pick a Card Contrail, Poison Ivy Outfit, Back Bloom Back Bling, Ivy Axe Pickaxe, Midas Rex Outit, Midas Crest Back Bling, Kingmaker Pickaxe, and 1000 V-Bucks. All of this available for $29.99 USD? Holy cheap bundles of skins, Batman!

10. Fortnite x The Walking Dead

Walking Dead Daryl Dixon & Michonne

Daryl Dixon and Michonne from the hit AMC series “The Walking Dead” were also added to Fortnite in Chapter 2, Season 5. While this is also a very shocking addition, the other skins added in the Zero Point season have all been themed around hunting and bounty hunters, so it makes a little bit more sense. It would have been cool to see a Walking Dead LTM similar to the Fortnitemares Halloween event be added along with these skins though.

9. Fortnite x Kratos

Kratos skin

The first skin to come from another IP, Kratos was available in the Fortnite item shop on the December 3, 2020. This was by far the most shocking skin added to the game since it was the first skin taken from another game, specifically Sony’s God of War. Given Sony’s track record for first-party exclusivity, no one was expecting them to allow one of their most popular IPs to be used in Fortnite.

8. Fortnite x Master Chief

Master Chief Skin

Master Chief, the main protagonist from the Xbox exclusive Halo series was also added to Fortnite right after Kratos. This leads me to believe that Fortnite will become the next Super Smash Bros. and may overtake it as the mainstream gaming multiverse. Who knows, maybe we’ll get Dante from Devil May Cry in Fortnite before Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

7. Fortnite x Mayhem

Fortnite x Mayhem was a collaboration between Fortnite and the previously Epic Games Store exclusive title Borderlands 3. If you purchased BL3 on the Epic Games Store, you automatically received the Fortnite Psycho Bundle for no extra charge. This bundle includes the Psycho Bandit Outfit, Claptrap Pet, and the Psycho Buzz axes. In addition to the cool cosmetics added in this crossover, there was also a section of the Fortnite map transformed into Pandora, the world of Borderlands. The map section was designed using Borderlands 3’s signature art style.

6. Fortnite x Batman

Fortnite Batman Collaboration

On August 14, Batman made his return to Fortnite alongside Catwoman and Harley Quinn, just in time for the release of “Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey.” The first Batman crossover also brought Gotham City to the famous Fortnite location, Tilted Towers as well as a couple of LTM exclusive weapon variants including the Explosive Batarang and Batman Grapnel Gun.

5. Fortnite x Marvel Comics

Fortnite Marvel Nexus War

Perhaps the biggest crossover on this list, the Fortnite x Marvel crossover spanned an entire season and included an entire Battle Pass full of Marvel superhero skins, accessories, and emotes. I’m also gonna go ahead and throw Deadpool into this one, however he was added in a previous season.

4. Fortnite x John Wick

As if Keanu Reeves couldn’t get anymore video game fame, his hit film “John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum” was also the highlight of a hugely popular Fortnite collaboration bringing players a John Wick skin as well as the Wick’s Bounty LTM! This was a really fun game mode and I hope that it gets re-added at some point, so I can pick up the John Wick skin. Be seein’ you, Mr. Wick.

3. Fortnite x Infinity War

Alright, we’re in the big leagues now. Coming in at #3, we’ve got the very first Fortnite and Marvel mash-up. Fortnite x Avengers Infinity War was a huge milestone for the game. It brought Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet from 2018’s “Avengers Infinity War” into the game and allowed players to wield the gauntlet and play as Thanos himself. While the Infinity Gauntlet LTM was one of the best, I’m putting it at #3 because there weren’t any skins that came with this specific collaboration.

2. Fortnite x Endgame

The second massive Fortnite and Marvel collaboration, Fortnite x Endgame was basically another Fortnite x Avengers Infinity War, however this time around we actually got our first Marvel skin and a new take on the Infinity War LTM! Let’s start with the skin. Black Widow was the very first Marvel skin that was introduced into Fortnite leading the way for over a dozen more in later seasons. The new LTM “Fortnite: Endgame” pitted players against Thanos once more, however players were able to wield Hawkeye’s Bow, Thor’s Stormbreaker Axe, Captain America’s Shield, and Iron Man’s Repulsor Gauntlets. This was definitely one of the best times to play Fortnite and I am so sorry if you missed out on this one.

1. Fortnite x Star Wars

What could be better than wielding Luke’s lightsaber and cutting down your opponents? The Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration gave players the ability to wield Luke, Rey (Anakin), Mace Windu, and Kylo Ren’s lightsabers in-game and let me tell you, it was a blast. There were so many Star Wars skins available as well including Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren, and a couple of Storm Trooper outfits including the Sith Trooper. There was also a First Order TIE Fighter and Millennium Falcon gliders, and so many other cosmetics available for purchase in the Fortnite item shop! In Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 5 we also got a Mandalorian skin with a Razor Crest glider and The Child pet, as well as a couple of other Mandalorian themed cosmetics. I’m hoping we eventually get a Star Wars themed season in Fortnite, though my wallet won’t be too happy.
