Ever Wonder What Godzilla and His Friends Look Like From the Inside?
Me neither, but I’ll be damned if I’m not going to look when it’s posted. I mean, it’s not like they’re ever going to kill him and split him open for an autopsy, so this is the best look we’ll get at the insides of the creature.
Actually, this series of pictures is from a 1967 book called An Anatomical Guide to Monsters. The text is by Shoji Otomo and the drawings are by Shogo Endo, and presumably it was written during the height of Godzilla craze in Japan.
That’s Godzilla above, but below we have X-rays of Gamera, Mothra and Anguiras, which I vaguely remember seeing in old monster films getting their asses beat by Godzilla. Mothra is way cooler once she gets to moth form though.
Check out the other illustrations below, and someone buy me a copy of this book.
Gamera sure looks a lot like tocca from the secret of the ooze. Or is razar the snapping turtle? I get them mixed up. They should have just used bee-bop and rocksteady.
