This Week In Movie Trailers!

Foxcatcher

Hey it’s Friday! … well, kind of. Since July 4th is upon us I thought it best to make sure we ended this week properly. Being that it’s a holiday, I think that your boss will allow you to watch these fine cinematic teasers while at work. I mean, is there a better way to end a short week?

Let’s do this.

Horrible Bosses 2

I’m not gonna lie, I was a fan of the first one. Sometimes the best recipe for making a successful sequel (at least in comedy) is not to stray too far away from what worked the first time. I think that 22 Jump Street was a prime example of this. (will I see this? – yes)

This film was scheduled to come out last December, but was delayed for the director to polish it up for the wide release. Based on a true story and one that is not for the feint of heart, it’s a definite award nominee for sure. (will I see this? – yes)

St. Vincent

I don’t know about you but doesn’t Bill Murray just keep getting better and better with age? He’s like a fine vintage wine that is now peeking in his acting career in my opinion. Sure he did funny stuff back in the day, but now he does funny stuff that moves you. Right when he hits the glass in the beginning of this trailer I was sold. (will I see this? – yes)

The Disappearance of Elanor Rigby

Here’s one for the ladies. While it has an interesting concept and an intriguing plot, it looks somewhat blah. Do all “love” stories have to have this turmoil that always brings the central characters back together at the end? Oh and side note, does anyone else think that Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard look alike? (will I see this? – nope, unless the wife drags me)

A Most Wanted Man

Can I just say again how it sucks to lose such a talent as Philip Seymour Hoffman? I am super pumped that there are movies like this that are coming out so that we can delight in his performances. It looks like a good movie that is going to be a definite slow burn till the end. (will I see this? – rental)

The Skeleton Twins

Probably one of the worst misleading titles for a movie in a long while. I do enjoy Bill Hader but I can’t stand Kristen Wiig so I’m on the fence for this one. Looks like it has potential though. (will I see this? – rental)

Cuban Fury

Really? Sigh. (will I see this? – nope)

Dracula Untold

I’m a big fan of vampire movies. I think that this has an interesting take on the whole Dracula history and lore. In an industry punching out vampire flics left and right trying to put a spin on him being more of a anti-hero than a true villain seems like a useful tactic. (will I see this – maybe)

Well that’s it everyone! Have a safe and happy 4th of July. See you next week.
