Breaking Bad’s “El Paso” and “Felina” Explained
Yes, it’s been well over a week since the Breaking Bad finale, but analysis of the episode keeps rolling in, and probably will for many months (and even years) to come.
The above video explains both the title of the episode and the song that was played during one of the crucial scenes “El Paso.” The song is about a man falling in love with a young Mexican maid named “Felina.” Vince Gilligan pretty much said overtly that Felina in Walt’s case was the blue crystal, which is really the true love story of the series. The video above has been edited with the lyrics to show how Walt’s story (somewhat) mirrors that of the song.
Other “Felina” analysis includes that the word itself is an anagram of “Finale” and that Fe Li and Na are elements in the periodic table found in blood, meth and tears, respectively. SO MANY LAYERS I CAN’T HANDLE IT.
