A Gallery of Video Game Characters Inspired by Bruce Lee
Bruce Lee is a legend who has inspired many to take up martial arts in order to become even a fraction as badass as him. Therefore, it stands to reason that he would inadvertently star in our best source of entertainment power fantasies, video games.
Over the years, there have been many, many, many video game characters inspired by Bruce Lee. Some literally ARE him, like Fei Long above, right down to the screams when he fights. Others simply have his look or fighting style.
RodMunch5K is the one who hunted most of these down, and I’ve picked a few of the best ones for you to check out below:
Dragon Chan (Punch Out)
Oolong (Yie Ar Kung-Fu)
Long (Xuan Dou Zhi Wang)
Wang (China Warrior)
Forrest Law (Tekken)
Lee Sin (League of Legends)
Kim Dragon (World Heroes)
Liu Kang (Mortal Kombat)
Hon Fu (Fatal Fury)
Marshall Law (Tekken)
Iron Fist (Marvel vs Capcom)

Oh, man. You forgot Shag Chi, from Marvel. http://marvel.com/universe/Shang-Chi
Maxi = Elvis!
Cheap imitations, Bruce Lee is the man!
That’s not Marshall Law in the first picture…..That’s Fei Long from Street Fighter….
What about Rock Lee…he perfectly embodies Bruce’s dedication to hard work and determination to strive to be the best.
Yie Ar Kung-Fu was the shit! That was the first game that made me actually break a literal sweat.
I forgot how offensive Dragon Chan was. Damn.
Isn’t that Fei Long from Street Fighter at the top?
I don’t think Ironfist is based on Bruce here. If anything he was a product of the martial arts craze that swept the nation after Bruce Lee became famous, but he’s not explicitly based on Bruce. For one he neither looks nor fights like him. His fighting style (at least back when he first came out) was more kickboxing and powers were alien in nature, and certainly doesn’t look like Bruce, doesn’t have his scream (although that is subjective considering its a comic character). The modern version does seem more Brucy only because he actually resembles his origin now (master of shaolin kung fu and alien kung fu) which is (partly) what bruce did.
