This Week In Movie Trailers!
Holy crap! So I’m not going to start this out with a lot of fluff or an elongated intro because there are too many trailers that I need to get to … surprisingly a lot of trailers for movies I actually want to see!
Let’s do this.
Black Sea
Jude Law with a very believable Scottish/Irish accent. I tell ya what, I never want to be trapped in a submarine – it just never seems to go well for all of those aboard. (Will I see this? – rental)
Inside Out (teaser)
Osmosis Jones? Nope Pixar is doing their take on what makes our emotions tic…or kind of like that. Anyways that last little tid bit with “sadness” really captures someone who is truly sad/depressed with an animated character. Looking forward to what they pump out! (Will I see this? – yes)
Taken 3
Taken was awesome and definitely not at all what I was expecting out of it when I saw it in theaters. Then I saw Taken 2 and felt that they didn’t really do much that was different – but I still enjoyed it. Now it just seems like we’re doing the cash cow thing which saddens me. Liam still kicks ass though – anyone catch the “good luck” line? (Will I see this? – rental)
Interstellar (trailer #3)
Each one of these trailers that come out tease us with just a bit more information but are still able to be cryptic about the major context of the film. Typical Chris Nolan fashion. I think what they really need to do is have Rust do a voiceover with images just flashing. (Will I see this? – yes)
Exodus: Gods & Kings (trailer #2)
I just can’t get past the fact that they’ve got Joel Edgerton playing Ramses. Though, I should give Ridley more credit than that and hope for the best. I did notice that Aaron Paul is gracing this movie so that alone should pull a lot of interest. By the way – put all the questions to rest if this is going to be anything like what they did with Noah – the trailer makes it a point to say ‘GOD’ quite clearly. (Will I see this? – yes)
The Water Diviner
Someone throw Russell Crowe a bone for crying out loud. This poor guy is still doing his best to make commendable movies and I’m hoping that this one will prove to be what gets him back on track. (Robin Hood seemed to really side step him) (Will I see this? – maybe)
American Sniper
Clint Eastwood is one helluva director who keeps knocking films out left and right. I also believe that he’s a far better in the director’s chair than he ever was as an actor. I don’t know about you but this trailer was intense and it was just a small clip – definitely makes me want to see it. (Will I see this? – yes)
Horrible Bosses 2 (trailer #3)
In case you were in the dark on the actual plot like I was, this trailer clears that up for us. I still think it looks pretty funny and I’m hoping it pulls a 22 Jump Street. (Will I see this? – yes)
Inherent Vice
Seems to me that Paul Thomas Anderson and Phoenix are quite the duo. This looks like it will be along the lines of American Hustle – but better. (Will I see this? – yes)
V/H/S: Viral
Who thinks up this crap? Better yet – who pays good money to see this crap? Sigh … (Will I see this? – nope)
The Theory of Everything
Stephen Hawking never ceases to amaze me. Sure we’ve heard good things and bad things about him – but ya know what, the guy is a friggin’ genius and one that we should all marvel at. I’d consider him our generation’s Einstein. (Will I see this? – yes)
What do you guys think about this week’s trailers? Any of them peak your interest? Sound off in the comments below. Yeah, I actually want to hear from you. Any trailers I might’ve missed? Take care and enjoy your movie filled weekend!

Hey guys & gals, my name is Lucas Tetrault and if you like this post or any of the others I’ve done – please feel free to venture over to my Blog and take a gander at some other stuff I write about. I promise I don’t intend to waste your time.
I work as a Creative Director and spend time away from my job with my wife and son, writing for Unreality, and trying to be creative with my own personal projects.
Interstellar continues to look really interesting, and at some point I might cut myself off from knowing anything else about it before I see it.
American Sniper… damn. First I’ve heard of it. The fact that it’s an Eastwood movie, and the quality of that trailer – THAT is how you build tension in a trailer. That was excellent. I’m definitely going to check that out.
I know right!? American Sniper might be the movie of the year for me. (if it is anything as good as that trailer)
The first V/H/S surprised me, so much so that I was excited to see the second installment, and equally disappointed when I did. I’m not sure if I can bring myself to give the third movie a fair chance.
I’d shy away if I were you sir.
Two thoughts:
1) Inherent Vice looks absolutely lunatic – in a good way.
2) I want a stuffed Sadness from “Inside Out” – she’s so cuuuuuuute!
(And before you ask, I’m 44 years old. And I still want a stuffed Sadness. Don’t judge me.)
(no judgin here – I’d take one too!)
And I agree – I think Inherent Vice is a comedy without it trying to overly hype it.
“but ya know what, the guy was a friggin’ genius”
Surely, he still is? 😛
Sorry, I had to 😛
Noted and edited. Thanks for looking out. 😉
