The Prometheus 2023 TED Talk

Now this is a cool bit of viral marketing. Prometheus is easily one of my most anticipated films of the year, as I suspect it is for many of you, and now we get a taste of the thematic elements from this imagined TED Talk by none other than Guy Pearce.
TED Talks, for those of you who haven’t seen them yet, are a series of lectures on various topics by very smart people. It sounds boring, but many are exceptionally interesting, and I suggest you check a few out if you haven’t.
Here, Guy Pearce plays tech pioneer Peter Weyland, and in 2023 when TED talks fill stadiums, he discusses how the world has changed, and how he plans to further change it. I’m a little unclear, does Prometheus actually take place in 2023? I think they have rather ambitious expectations of our currently non-existent space program. Or is this just a flashback to how the events of Prometheus got started? In any case, Guy Pearce is awesome.

Guy Pearce is such an underrated and under-used actor.
