That Gal Actor of the Week: Lois Smith
You might not know Lois Smith by name when you see her but chances are you’ve definitely seen her. With 117 titles to her name then you’ve seen her somewhere on TV or in the movies. Truth be told though, Lois Smith is really more of a stage actor.
She arned Tony nominations for her supporting performances in the plays “The Grapes of Wrath” (1990) and Sam Shepard’s “Buried Child” (1996). She has also twice been nominated for Broadway’s Tony Award as Best Actress (Featured Role – Play): in 1990 for portraying Ma Joad in “The Grapes of Wrath.”
Personally I remember her as the mom in Twister. In any event, we just want to give her a shout out because she’s still going strong at 82 years old.
Thats the role I remember her most from as well. But she wasn`t the mom, she was Jo`s aunt (Meg). And yes I love that movie and remember the character`s names.
