A Selection of Funny Re-Dubbed Movie Scenes

Jones

I think it was Jones who did it best in Police Academy.   Remember when he used to talk like those ridiculous redubbed old Karate movies? Well that’s where I think all the funny redubbing started….at least the funny redub sounds that were done on purpose.

And where has that evolved to?  We see it all the time.  On television, in movie mashups.  Redubbing has become a huge part of movies and I for one love when a fan uses some great editing to make a certain movie scene look a whole lot different.  Either that or when a TV Network is just stupid.

Here is a selection of funny redubbed movie scenes I think you’ll all enjoy.

  1. @ Perx: Well firstly Police Academy came out before DBZ (in 1984). Also DBZ wasn’t on Cartoon Network which is where you probably saw it till the 2000’s… listen to what IcemanD said.

  2. Holy crap! I made the mistake of watching the first one at work (headphones,) and I couldn’t get halfway through before I had to turn it off. I had to try really hard to keep the laughs in.

  3. @Dragonchilde – To this day, I still tell people about that ‘Mr. Falcon’ thing, and I watched Die Hard 2 on TV over ten years ago. Best dubbing ever.

Except that Next Generation one. God I love it.

  4. Seriously? Jones from Police Academy?

Off the top of my head I can point to “What’s Up, Tiger Lily?” by Woody Allen in 1966 as as early example of this kind of thing.
