Ranking Each Fortnite Chapter 2 Season From Worst To Best

Fortnite Chapter 2 is almost over, with Chapter 3 beginning in December 2021 which will bring a new map, improved graphics, new mechanics, and hopefully a lot of fun too. As we wait for the start of the new chapter now is a perfect time to look back at the past two years of Fortnite and remember the good and bad times that the game has brought. Here are all of the Fortnite Chapter 2 seasons ranked from worst to best.

8. Chapter 2 Season 6

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 saw the game go back in time to a more primal age, with many weapons in the game being primitive such as bows. This season also introduced many mechanics that have carried over to future seasons and will likely be part of the game long term going forward. These include crafting, which allows players to create different weapons while using parts, as well as the addition of wildlife. While some of these changes and additions were good, overall the season was disappointing. The Primal weapons were largely lackluster and the addition of POIs such as Boney Burbs was a letdown when compared to other areas of the map.

7. Chapter 2 Season 1

Following the black hole event in October 2019 players were ushered into Chapter 2, which brought new mechanics to the game such as fishing, new and improved graphics, and more importantly a brand new map that has been home to tens of millions of players for the past two years. Season 1 also took the game back to basics, with a very limited loot pool that was a nice change of pace following the craziness that we saw in Chapter 1 Season X. But, Chapter 2 Season 1 became one of the longest seasons of all time at 128 days, which is a long longer than the typical 70-84 that we saw in Chapter 1. This made the season drag on and by the end of it, many players were happy to be getting something new.

6. Chapter 2 Season 5

Following the Galactus event at the end of Chapter 2 Season 4 the Zero Point made a return to the Fortnite map, with the storyline of Season 5 being Agent Jones going into different universes and bringing characters in to try and help him. This meant that the season was full of collaborations from many entertainment franchises including Halo, God of War, The Walking Dead, Street Fighter, Alien, and Terminator. This was quite fun but did get tiresome as the season was just a gigantic advertisement for other brands. The map itself was a bit annoying with the middle portion being covered in sand, which did add a form of mobility but sometimes got into the way of fighting.

5. Chapter 2 Season 7

After an incredibly disappointing Season 6, anything would have appeared to be great in comparison, thankfully Season 7 was actually a pretty good season, with the addition of vehicles such as the UFO, as well as new items including the Recon Scanner. After a while, the UFOs became very cumbersome which did let it down overall, but they were fun for a while. It was great to see the game get wacky again which has carried over into Season 8 which will end the current chapter.

4. Chapter 2 Season 3

Following two incredibly long seasons, Chapter 2 Season 3 was a much-needed change of pace with the season lasting just 73 days compared to Season 1 and 2 which lasted for 128 and 118 days. The Fortnite map was almost entirely flooded which made mobility very awkward, to begin with but it slowly drained over the weeks, which also saw the introduction of cars which have become a key part of Fortnite today. Overall, it was a good season that will become fondly remembered by players.

3. Chapter 2 Season 8

Chapter 2 Season 8 is the final season of the chapter, with the next season ushering in the start of Chapter 3. This season has been incredibly fun, with the voting system to bring certain weapons and items into the game, as well as a very diverse loot pool. This is the best that Fortnite has been in over a year and hopefully Epic Games is able to continue this momentum heading into the next chapter.

2. Chapter 2 Season 4

Throughout Chapter 2 we have seen an increased amount of collaborations, with Epic Games bringing an entirely Marvel-themed season in Chapter 2 Season 4. The Battle Pass consisted of Marvel characters including Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine, and Groot, as well as many other characters such as Daredevil, and Blade being added to the Item Shop. There were some Marvel-themed POIs including Doom’s Domain which took over Pleasant Park and the new Stark Industries which was one of the best POIs the game has seen.

1. Chapter 2 Season 2

Finally is Chapter 2 Season 2, which introduced many new locations to the game each being home to a boss NPC that once defeated dropped an incredibly strong weapon or item. POIs such as The Authority, The Shark, and The Grotto is remembered today as some of the best locations of the game’s history, and the season introduced NPCs and made Mythic rarity weapons a standard part of the game with many others being added in the future seasons. The end of Chapter 2 Season 2 is also the point where many older content creators and pros started to stop playing the game, making it one of the most fondly remembered seasons.
