I’ve had many hours of fun playing around with the Pokemon Fusion generator, combining the sprites into cooler and weirder looking new Pokemon. Now that’s what I call breeding!
One (or a few?) artists have gone through and tried to illustrate what it might look like if these Pokemon actually existed, not just in 8/16-bit form. The results are pretty great, and the gallery below is full of all sorts of oddities and wonders that you’ll definitely want to check out:

I haven’t played Pokemon since Gen 2 (well, I did get Heartgold and Leafgreen), and I’ve only paid half-attention to the series since, but most Fusion fan artwork is better than the actual official creature designs these days. They should just use the Fusion Generator and their fans to design their next crop of critters.
