How Big is the Moon? This Big

It can sometimes be hard to get a sense of how big other celestial bodies are other than our own. Earth is the only place we know, after all.

But what about the other rock we’ve actually been to? The Moon is quite a bit smaller than many of us imagine, and one amateur astronomer decided to see what it would look like if we compared its size to that of the US. As it turns out, you could drive across half of it in roughly the same time it would take you to make a cross-country trip from one side of the USA to the other.

So, road trip, anyone?
