Breaking Bad Meets Seinfeld
Another day, another rather hilarious re-editing of a popular show. I’ve seen Breaking Bad get a sitcom intro before, but now it’s been recut as a scene you might find in a show like Seinfeld.
Naturally, the creator went to the amazing pizza/dipping sticks scene that’s one of the funniest moments in what’s otherwise a rather dark show. Well, at this point calling Breaking Bad a rather dark show is like saying a hurricane is a somewhat strong breeze.

This exact scene with a crummy laugh track was done years ago on Funny or Die. I was bored with this scene halfway through. Funny concept, but it didn’t work for me.

I don’t think it really worked. The scene isn’t really intended to be funny and I don’t think it comes off as comedy. Skylar is obviously agitated and Walt’s cheery demeanor dies off at the end of their exchange before throwing the pizza. The scene obviously conveys Walt’s frustration and Skylar’s unwillingness to be around him. Adding a laugh track to that doesn’t lessen these intentions or change the way the viewer, or at least myself, sees the scene.
