Avengers 2 and Ex Machina Lead Our Week in Movie Trailers
Happy Halloween you sexy Unrealtors you! Sorry I missed last week’s trailers. My wife and I celebrated having our second child so I took the week off. There was a post earlier this week about not watching trailers in order to save the movie for yourself and enjoy it that much more – completely based on Avengers 1. Which I agree with mostly. Nowadays it’s somewhat necessary to do in order to not spoil endings or jokes etc. The thing is, sometimes there are very well put together trailers that are just awesome in every sense of the word and I love watching those. (Avengers 2 is one of them …) For me, I don’t think watching the trailer for Avengers 2 would ruin much of anything for me because I’m such a comic nerd that I doubt that I don’t already have a good idea as to what is going to happen anyways. Though I will readily admit that I’d rather have good 1 min teaser trailer any day compared to the 2-3+ minute trailers that are becoming the norm.
Needless to say there are many trailers we need to take care of! So without further ado …
Let’s do this.
Ex Machina
Everyone always seems very intrigued by the thought of AI actually coming to fruition. I’m sure it will happen someday and I hope I’m alive to witness it’s dawning. The scary thing that we always fear is something like the Matrix eventually happening… (Will I see this? – yes)
Oh, quick note and a shout out to Adam Douglas – make sure you avoid the Avengers 2 Trailer below – I don’t want to be responsible for you spoiling the movie for yourself! Cheers buddy!
Avengers 2: Age of Ultron
What can I say about this one? I didn’t see the Avengers first film in theater because of all the hype it got and the fact that I just wasn’t originally on board with the mash up of all the heroes. Regardless of Whedon being attached to it or not. It was a good movie don’t get me wrong – but this 2nd outing looks to be so much more. The trailer gives us a glimpse at what will make it better, mainly, the villain Ultron voiced perfectly by James Spader. The trailer gives me goosebumps and I for one will definitely make sure I see it on the big screen this time around. (Will I see this? – yes)
Serena
No, it’s not about the tennis phenom. Frankly I’m a bit underwhelmed. I was such a huge fan of Silver Linings Playbook and think that Jennifer and Bradley play so well off one another in every film they’ve been in together, yet this is not one of them. It looks pretty predictable and somewhat boring. We’ll see what the critics have to say. (Will I see this? – maybe)
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 (full official trailer)
That Jennifer Lawrence is so hot right now. (please tell me someone got that) Can’t wait to wrap this series up – wish we didn’t have to wait for the very last one but it’s all shaping up to be a grand final adventure! (Will I see this? – yes)
Comet
“Why am I so hell bent on getting you back? You still have an AOL account, I don’t want to be with a person like that?!” – quote of the year. I’ve said it before, Justin Long seems to be busy doing anything other than big popular movies right now. I’m all for it because this looks awesome. (Will I see this? – yes)
Before I Disappear
Hey at least it’s got Ron Perlman, there’s hope for it. (Will I see this? – rental)
The Gambler (red band)
Hell yes. Great trailer and great little dialogue clip with John Goodman. Pumped for this. (Will I see this? – yes)
Insidious: Chapter 3
I’m sorry but the first Insidious wasn’t even scary. Horror movies just don’t know when enough is enough sometimes. (Will I see this? – nope)
The Woman In Black 2: Angel of Death
The first one was pretty good, at least for being a PG-13 rated horror. This looks to up the game a bit but without the presence of Daniel Radcliffe. (Will I see this? – rental)
What We Do In The Shadows
A vampire comedy?! Oh, I’m so in. (Will I see this? – yes)
Bad Turn Worse
Is this like a re-imagining of Bonnie & Clyde? Looks ok I suppose. (Will I see this? – rental)
So today is Halloween! Who is watching a scary movie tonight? Did any of you Unrealtors go see a horror movie or two these past few weeks? I think I might give the new Carrie a spin tonight, anyone see that and care to give me an opinion? Maybe I should just watch one of my favorites – Paranormal Activity.
What do you guys think about this week’s trailers? Any of them peak your interest? Sound off in the comments below. Yeah, I actually want to hear from you. Any trailers I might’ve missed? Take care and enjoy your movie filled weekend!

A movie made by the guys of Flight of the Concord!!! Damn, I’m more excited about that than any other movie on this list!
Just can’t wait!
Is it me or, The Gambler looks like a Guy Ritchie movie. That’s not a bad thing…
Yeah, a vampire comedy made by the Flight of the Conchord guys is pretty much an auto-watch. Trying not to get my hopes up, but yeah that looks really solid.
I saw What We Do In The Shadows, it was really enjoyable! consistently funny, definitely check it out.
I’m trying not to either – but it looks exactly as I would imagine by those guys.
