Animals of Glass
Well, I can’t bend or twist this into being about some pop culture franchise, but this was just too cool not to share. It’s a series of sculptures from Marta Klonowska (via Geekologie) who uses shards of glass to create animals. You may in fact bleed out if you attempt to cuddle them, but they’re simply gorgeous to behold from afar.
The animals are based on the kinds found in “baroque and romantic paintings by such artists as Peter Paul Rubens or Francisco de Goya next to which they are often displayed.” Now, I have no idea what that actually means, but it sounds pretty artsy so I will pretend to be impressed. Did people really paint Lemurs back then?
