A Hipster Superheroine Fashion Show
I hear the word “hipster” so much now, I don’t even know what it means anymore. This is a series of “Hipster” DC superheroines by Elizabeth Beals, though I guess I’m not up on fashion enough to notice the difference between these outfits and clothes non-hipsters normally wear. That said, I do like how all the costumes have been translated into actual clothing, which is a neat concept I’ve seen done a few times with superheroes and heroines.
There are a bunch more besides Black Canary which you can check out below including Supergirl, Power Girl, Batgirl and even a few villains like Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn as well. But we love them just as much, don’t we?
Glasses. That’s a hipster thing right? I’m so uncool.
Damn it, I kind of do love them. Pay no attention to this hipster thing. It’ll play itself out. Now that hipsters are mainstream, actual hipsters have stopped being hipsters, so the only hipsters left are actually no longer hipsters, but conformists, and the conformists are now hipsters. Simple!
That was brilliant, Nick. I want to throw a stick in the spokes of every “ironic” mustached e-cigarette-smoking bicyclist I see. Hipsters now shop at WalMart – conformists at Urban Outfitters. LOVE. IT.
