30 Amazing Stanley Kubrick Cinemagraphs
This isn’t the first time we’ve featured a series of GIFs from If We Don’t, Remember Me, but that blog has added a number of new entries since we first featured them, and it’s worth noting that Stanley Kubrick’s films seem to have been a source of inspiration for the site.
I’ve learned the official name for these type of GIFs that feature very little movement while the rest of the image stays static are “Cinemagraphs,” drawn from the filmmaking term of old that produced a similar result.
The 30 Kubrick movie graphs are below, and as always, you can check out the full collection from a bunch of films over at the site itself.
Dr. Strangelove

When are photos going to start doing this!? I would LOVE to have these on the wall… Good god Kubrick is fucking fantastic! <3<3<3
Awesome. Each shot is like a work of art. Kubrick was king.
Also, AI was Spielberg.
Lol, when my friend bought a video camera we looped Sargeant Hartman getting shot by Pyle over and over. We would make him rise up and the blood would go back in. YOU CAN’T KILL R. LEE ERMEY!! HE’S IMMORTAL!!
AI was a Kubrick project that Spielberg picked up after his death.
But it kind of sucked, unlike every single Kubrick film, so it’s going firmly in the ever-weakening Spielberg filmography.
