With all the new technology in imagery these days, a new popular trend amongst graphics artists and even just simple photoshop hobbyists has been creating worlds that don’t exist.
I must admit it’s really amazing to see the kind of stuff some of these people come up with. For some reason it always tends to remind me of the movie Neverending Story and the power that Bastian didn’t realize he possessed. Though unfortunately I haven’t seen Falcor appear in any of these pictures.

Some of them look really familiar, but I definitely know the second to last one is the Jefferson Memorial from Fallout 3. Bethesda released several of those types of Capitol Wasteland wallpapers…my favorites are actually the Rivet City one and the Congress one.
