Will Smith Sings The Fresh Prince of Bel Air Theme with a UK Audience

Sure, we may steal great shows like The Office from England, but we give them our classics like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I wasn’t aware the show had that many fans in the UK, but this appearance by Will Smith on the Graham Norton show proves otherwise.

He’s asked to sing the theme, and is surprised when the entire crowd joins in with him. I was additionally surprised to find myself singing along to the video without even knowing it, and I still know all the words after all these years. I think Ashley Banks was my first interracial crush when I was young. And remember when Hillary posed for Playboy? Good times.

I think I'm a part of the first generation of journalists to skip print media entirely, and I've learned a lot these last few years at Forbes. My work has appeared on TVOvermind, IGN, and most importantly, a segment on The Colbert Report at one point.

  2. Also a UK gal, and everyone I know knows that song, I grew up watching Fresh Prince. I’d be more surprised to find someone who didn’t know it, my grandparents aside.
