The Top 5 Games Announced At E3 2017
Recently at the E3 there were a lot of cutting edge games announced that sent a large number of diehard gamers into paroxysms of sheer ecstasy and adulation as they beheld the upcoming titles for their favorite consoles that would be hitting stores eventually. Yes, video games are still sold in stores despite the preference of some to order them online. For those gamers that are considered old school, basically those of us that still think Mario 2 on the NES was and remains awesome, the new games are nothing short of spectacular with their film-like quality and well-designed plot lines. The hours that any gamer spends on these fantastical tales is hardly ever considered time wasted as the gamer’s imagination gets to take a trip down the virtual rabbit hole into worlds they never knew existed.
Sound interesting enough yet? Well here are the top rated games thus far that were announced at the E3 just this month.
5. Super Mario Odyssey
It’s time to take a trip outside the Mushroom Kingdom as Mario boards his own airship and sets sail for parts unknown. Once again he’s out to save Princess Peach from Bowser, which is perhaps the only detractor from the game. The plot is very recognizable from the old school Mario games, but the abilities, such as the cap throw, are very new, and should be able to interest new and old gamers alike.
4. Marvel’s Spider-Man
So just to keep you informed, this game will not be directly tied to a comic or a film. Instead it will focus on Spiderman being in his early 20’s and being firmly established in his superhero role. The twist of the game is that eventually he’ll end up helping, in a sense, one of his worst enemies, the Kingpin. The graphics and overall movement of the game are going to be what fans expect, but a few of the abilities might be altered ever so slightly to keep the game interesting and new enough that players will feel compelled to explore all the new and innovative designs.
3. South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Yes, you read that right. Trey Parker and Matt Stone wanted to put another word in the title of this amazingly popular game, but were told that retailers wouldn’t sell it. So guess what they did? A shameless attempt at getting their point across could result in a very interesting fan favorite, which is a sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth. If you rolled your eyes at this it’s okay, South Park has been favorite of millions for so long that it’s reasonable to assume that many would have been surprised if it was left off this list.
2. Assassin’s Creed Origins
The classic feud between the Assassins and the Templar Knights begins here in the prequel to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Playing as the first assassin, Bayek, the player will travel through real-world settings that are designed to play to the assassin’s strengths and help the gamer navigate their way through each dangerous encounter. Much like its predecessors, Origin will leave the gamer unable to look away as it draws them deeper into the mysterious uprising of the Assassin’s and their ongoing issues with the Templar order.
1. Star Wars Battlefront II
First of all, this game looks positively awesome. At one point the player will get to play either Kylo Ren or Luke Skywalker, which for Stars Wars fans is nothing short of spectacular. Also, it will focus mainly upon Inferno Squad, a battle-hardened group of Imperial soldiers that witness the destruction of the second Death Star and must find a way to move on while still keeping their loyalty to the Empire. The game will cover a thirty year span that takes it from the conclusion of Return of the Jedi to The Force Awakens, where it will conclude with the destruction of Starkiller Base. It’s bound to be one heck of a ride.
Whether you’re old school or new school when it comes to gaming it doesn’t really matter. These games are bound to be off the hook and crazy fun.
