The Insane Detail of Pacific Rim’s Bodysuits
Obviously much of the focus during Pacific Rim was on the Jaegers (giant mechs) and Kaiju (giant monsters) which were all rendered completely in CGI, as opposed to being guys in suits like old monster movies.
But there WERE guys in suits, the Jaeger pilots like Charlie Hunnam and Idris Eba, and it turns out there was an absolutely insane amount of detail that went into making them. I’m a sucker for awesomely designed power armor, so I really liked this behind the scenes look at the process.
I can’t help but wonder if they focused too much on the detail and CGI effects of the overall movie than they did actually writting a decent story. Its like: Enough explosions, your story line kinda sucks and is overly predictable :/
