The Greatest Home Theater in the Galaxy

What you see here isn’t a still from Star Trek 2, rather it’s an actual home theater inside a Hawaiian mansion that I think it’s safe to say is the best one I’ve ever seen.

Here are some of the room’s more impressive specs:

The designers, Acoustic Innovations of Boca Raton, FL, didn’t want the gear to break the intergalactic illusion, so they hid it: acoustic panels on the walls were designed to look like starship doors, equipment racks turn 180 degrees, so they can be concealed by a concave cabinet, and the Runco DLP projector that makes the magic happen is hidden inside a soffit in the rear of the room. The screen is a curved, anamorphic 107-inch display from Stewart Filmscreen, which is acoustically transparent to accomodate the five speakers behind it.

It also has life-size talking C-3P0 and R2-D2 replicas, and from the looks of the room I think you might actually get tan by watching a movie there.
