Street Fighter 6 – Dee Jay Character Breakdown

Dee Jay is a fighter that made his debut back in Super Street Fighter II in 1992. Being a Jamaican kickboxer, he comes with a flashy appeal with fairly accessible moves. He may not come with the heaviest DPS, but his combos are righteous in Street Fighter 6. It has been a while since players have seen him and it’s nice to have him back in the ring. He comes with a long reach and tricky punches that will keep opponents on their toes. Being a trickster, he is full of feints and pull-backs that will have opponents confused about what’s going on.

In Street Fighter 6, Dee Jay operates pretty differently than his earlier incarnations. He comes with some zoning capabilities, but he is more or less, a brawler at heart. As far as mechanics, he plays somewhat similar to Guile. Especially, when it comes to his charging moves. Thus, he also comes with rapid-thumping punches that can chip away the health bar of an opponent pretty quickly. No doubt that Dee Jay comes with technicalities that can be a little difficult to get used to. However, as soon as a player masters all of his inputs, he can become an annoyance to the opposition.

The main thing about Dee Jay is that players will need to know how to actually mix up all of his feints and attacks. Matches can be won, just by sucker punching to victory. It will take a little time to get comfortable with this way of fighting. Regardless, there’s no doubt that this can be pretty effective in a variety of ways. When Dee Jay does attack, he can launch players up in the air for combos. His juggling and standard attacks are both equally useful.
