Star Trek, Motion Stabilized

What really happened on set when the Enterprise was supposed to be under fire from enemy ships in the original Star Trek? Well, motion stabilization now shows that everyone was just supposed to run around like loons while camera shaking did the rest.

I think my favorite is Uhura, who obviously wasn’t going to dive to the floor in that minidress, so she just sprints to the door like she’s fleeing from a slasher villain.

And I’m pretty sure Kirk nailed his balls on that console.

Alright I’ve watched this like fifty times now, time to move on.

Maybe just once more.

  1. I love that video filter. Makes me wanna take some of the more modern action movies starring classic action stars (basically everything Sly, Arnie, and Van Damme have done since like 2002 or whenever the shaky-cam fad started), and right the wrong Hollywood has done to my favorite genre for the past 12 or so years.

Come to think of it, wasn’t this site the place that introduced me to that video someone made of the blair witch product where they used this same video filter and applied it to the entire film?
