Seven Awesome Movies About Sharks
Blue Water, White Death
Before Steven Spielberg gave us Jaws, there was Blue Water, White Death, a terrific documentary by Peter Gimbel and James Lipscomb. The film follows a movie crew through South Africa in April of 1969. They set out to find and film a great white shark underwater and what they found was remarkable. They took amazing footage that really emphasized and focused on the real-life habitat of these ancient creatures. It’s a thrilling and suspenseful adventure.
Ah here you forgot all about Mega shark versus giant octopus!

“Tintorera” and “The Jaws of Death”! Where my grindhouse at!? Also, I’m with you on Deep Blue Sea. People talk shit, but that is one hell of a fun movie, and it’s a masterpiece compared to 99% of the shark films out there. BWWD is one of the most amazing docs ever, too. Why it doesn’t get aired annually on Shark Week is a mystery to me.
Great list! Just watched The Reef a couple months ago on Netflix; tense and terrifying.
