Reverse Fantasy Casting The Lord of the Rings
For some reason or another, I’ve always been a fan of fantasy casting upcoming films, but I haven’t done it for a while. This is a new spin on the concept I don’t think I’ve seen before. It’s REVERSE fantasy casting an existing film, in this case, Lord of the Rings.
This was pulled from a random Livejournal, believe it or not, but it’s actually quite well done. The author has gender flipped nearly every important role in the film series, and made some pretty damn good casting decisions that I would totally watch. It also serves to remind us how lopsided the casts of movies often are when it comes to male vs. female characters. Even the idea sounds crazy to us. A mostly female adventure ensemble? Preposterous!
Anyway, check out who she casted in all the roles below. Bledel is a good pick for Frodo, and the rest of these are equally inspired.
The way you remove comments critiquing this site and yourself is lovely Paul. Now most people just go directly to GaS and skip you because of yhis refusal to take criticism or make change accordingly.. 😛
