Ranking All the Games in the Sniper Elite Franchise
People that love the gaming industry are probably already familiar with the Sniper Elite series of games. This is a series that has capitalized on the more recent popularity in gaming that allows people to play from a third-party perspective in a realistic setting. As a tactical shooting game, it has easily become one of the most popular games available on the market. In fact, it has capitalized on that popularity by developing an entire series of games that comes out every couple of years. The interesting thing to note is that while it started out with a lot of popularity, it continues to become more and more popular among its followers. Below is a list of all of the different Sniper Elite games that are currently available, ranked from best to worst.
1. Sniper Elite 4 (2017)
Most of the experts that are in the know on this game will tell you that it basically involves more of the same that is involved in practically every other Sniper Elite game. However, the thing that makes it so popular is that the game developers continue to refine it and make it more realistic without allowing any of the excitement to be diminished. The fact that you can play with other individuals only adds to the excitement and as such, the newest Sniper Elite game is also the most popular and arguably also the best version of the entire series as of yet.
2. Sniper Elite V2 (2012)
This particular version was a lot like the original but there were some significant improvements made that made it a lot more fun to play. For starters, there was more structure added to the game so players didn’t feel like they were bouncing around without a purpose for much of the game. The developers also added more variety, thereby preventing you from mastering the game too quickly or becoming too bored with the circumstances that were presented.
3. Sniper Elite (2005)
This is the original version that started it all. It is important to note that this was a groundbreaking game for its time. As such, most gamers were beyond excited to get their hands on a copy and they couldn’t wait to start playing. This developed a following that still exists today. People might play this original version today and think that the graphics aren’t very well developed or the game itself is simply not exciting enough to hold your attention but in 2005, it was easily one of the most advanced games available. It definitely got the attention of anybody who enjoyed gaming and it paved the way for all of the future versions of the series that were yet to come.
4. Sniper Elite III (2013)
This version was a little bit different than the ones that had come before it because the developers intentionally wanted to add an additional level of realism that they felt was missing from previous versions. Some people loved this and some didn’t care for this version as much as others. While it may not be the most popular version of the Sniper Elite series, it is a necessary one. Without it, it is highly unlikely that the very popular fourth version would have come along, at least not in its current form. Considering that the newer version of the game sits easily at the top of the list, this is not a version that should be completely discounted.
5. Zombie Army Trilogy (2015)
A lot of people don’t even consider this trilogy as part of the Sniper Elite series. It involves an alternate universe with none other than an army of zombies, hence its name. In reality, people have a tendency to either love this version or love the original version but you would be hard-pressed to find someone that typically gives high marks to both. Therefore, it ends up at the bottom of the list.
