Adventure Time is currently in my “cartoons that seem ridiculous but somehow are supposed to appeal to guys my age” queue, now that I’ve finished with over a dozen episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
But until I get there, I’m content just featuring art from the series.
Above we have a nice little Miyazaki mashup with the show from artist JJ Harrison. It’s part of a (surprise) Mondo series featuring that show and also “Regular Show,” which have their own duel exhibit in Austin right now. Season One is really just kind of spastic all-around, so it may turn several people off. Though it has its own charm…
They get a lot bolder, and it strangely matures as it progresses. But I still don’t know how they can get away with several of this things they shown on this cartoon.
