Furious 7 and Minions Top This Week’s Movie Trailers

furious7-trailer

The death of Paul Walker really hit a lot of people, maybe just as many as Robin Williams. With Paul’s passing weighing heavily on the cast of the upcoming Furious 7, I’m sure that it was hard for everyone involved to complete the rest of the film. I’ve been a HUGE fan of the Fast and Furious franchise and can’t wait for the 7th installment to hit theaters. Without Walker’s presence it ill be interesting to see if they continue the series or if they just let it trail off from here. I know that it was supposed to continue on but will audiences be inclined to keep watching?

We’ve got lots of great trailers this week! A huge variety of characters await your viewing pleasure. From minions to robots to cute cuddly bears – they’re all here!

Let’s do this.

Minions

Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 were awesome animated features. Minions will probably not be as good but it’ll provide enough humor to make me chuckle. (Will I see this? – yes)

Furious 7

Easily one of my most anticipated movies of 2015. RIP Paul Walker. (Will I see this? – yes)

A Most Violent Year (official trailer)

I already featured this trailer once before but wanted to make sure you got the official one in case you were still on the fence. (Will I see this? – maybe)

Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife

Patrick Wilson seems to be enjoying his role in some dark comedies lately. It looks promising but the trailer doesn’t depict any actual LOL moments for me. (Will I see this? – maybe)

Penguins of Madagascar (official trailer #3)

Have you gathered that I’m nothing but a big kid yet? These adorable guys are the only thing worth mentioning out of the movie Madagascar and I for one think that their own feature will be all that more successful.  (Will I see this? – yes)

McFarland

Now this is how you do a trailer. True story – check. Amazing u2 ballad backing up the picture montage – check. Kevin Costner as a mentor – check.  (Will I see this? – yes)

Annie (official final trailer)

I’m sure it will be cute and charming – but it’s just not for me. Though now that I’ve got a little girl I better get used to these kinds of movies I’m guessing.  (Will I see this? – rental)

Chappie

District 9 was one of my favorite sci-fi films to date. Glad to see that this film might make up for the very disappointing Matt Damon movie – Elysium. (Will I see this? – yes)

The Gambler (official trailer)

I was unaware that last week’s trailer wasn’t the official one. Marky Mark doing what he does best. (Will I see this? – yes)

Into the Woods (official trailer)

I’m all for (good) musicals and I’m a big fan of Disney, but this doesn’t look like it’s going to be worth the wait.  (Will I see this? – maybe)

Spare Parts

While I’m sure the “true story” version of this true story is watchable, I’d recommend watching the actual documentary on this amazing group of young inventors.  (Will I see this? – rental)

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (official trailer)

One word – epic. (Will I see this? – yes)

Selma

Is it just me or is Oprah using black films as nothing more than a podium? I think it looks decent, but political propaganda aimed films are a fine line to walk. I’m hoping it’s more about Martin Luther King Jr. than anything, but if the Butler is any evidence, I doubt it is. (Will I see this? – rental)

Paddington (official trailer)

I’m hoping that it’s better than it looks. (why is the tracking for the voice completely off?) (Will I see this? – maybe)

What do you guys think about this week’s trailers? Any of them peak your interest? Sound off in the comments below. Yeah, I actually want to hear from you. Any trailers I might’ve missed? Take care and enjoy your movie filled weekend!

    1. I thought it was really cliche’ and boring to be honest. I guess that District 9 was so new and refreshing that I expected that same awe-inspiring experience again … and I didn’t get it. I guess it’s not a “bad” movie, but it definitely wasn’t one that I recommended to any of my friends.
