Ellie’s Swimming Solution
The Last of Us was a great game, but didn’t really have very many puzzle elements. Really, it only had two. One was figuring out which chunk of wall you could lean a ladder against, the second was getting Ellie across various bodies of water on a wooden pallet.
I actually thought this was sort of a great idea, as it made sense that kids born during the quarantined apocalypse wouldn’t have any idea how to swim. It’s not like they can just go down to the beach or local pool, after all. That said, the mechanic did get tiresome.
Artist Sara Mauri agreed, which is why she came up with this rather hilarious piece that has Joel devising a solution for Ellie that doesn’t involve pallet surfing. Floaties and a Clicker inner tube should get the job done.
