Bower Gets a Raccoon Leaf
Yeah, yeah, I know it’s called “Tanooki Mario” and technically this would be “Tanooki Bowser,” but since I grew up calling it the “Raccoon Leaf,” I’m going to stick with that. In truth, the power-up is named after the “tanuki,” a Japanese animal that’s sort of a cross between a raccoon and a dog. So hey, I’m kind of right. Also, I want one as a bet.
It’s cool to see what Bowser would look like as a mammal rather than a reptil. He actually doesn’t look at that much different, though having a shell on his back no longer makes any sense. But I’ll allow it, if Mario gets to keep his mustache in Tanooki form.
