Bloody Hell Hotel is a Odd Hotel Simulator with Gothic Charm
Bloody Hell Hotel is a new game being developed by Unfold Games with a unique premise. Players will take control of a vampire who is running a hotel. The goal is the manage the place and reel in customers to feed on. Hence, room service, decoration, amenities, and other features will need to be accommodated to make the hotel appealing to humans. Basically, this game is a crafting-survival IP in many ways. Players will need to venture underneath the hotel, where there is a system of catacombs wrought with monsters. There is where players will need to smite enemies, find loot, and craft items. The entire hotel will need to be built from the ground up. Even though this game sound like a business simulator, there is a lot working under its hood. With that said, this game won’t be a “fill in the gaps” type of builder. Players will be free to make their own vision come to life with this hotel.
This game will be played from a first-person perspective. With the vampire zooming through the hallways with ease. Even though players will need to renovate the place, it will all be done rather effortlessly thanks to the vampire’s powers. Everything from wallpaper to furniture will need to be established. Of course, there will be different styles and variations in the aesthetic of things. Players can make the place look like a Tim Burtonesque, gothic mansion, or something a little more whimsical. It is solely dependent on them. This game has everything from adventuring to managing. No doubt that there is a balance that will need to be implemented here. The kicker with this game is that everything will need to be made from scratch. This also includes the weapons. Bloody Hell Hotel isn’t holding back on the notion of work, by any means.
Tooth and Nail
At the start of the game, players will be running things all by themselves. By a certain point, they will be able to recruit staff to ease the burden. Of course, the pay role will be a factor and players will need to make sure a steady cash flow is happening. Thus, offering them blood is another element to keep your employees happy. They are vampires too, after all. There will also be a rather elaborate cooking mechanic Bloody Hell Hotel. Something that’s seen in some horror movies, in fact. Miking a zombie cow, collecting eggs from undead poultry, and collecting vegetables in the catacombs all play a factor. Thus, the meat will depend on who or what is butchered at the hands of the player. It will be up to the player’s imagination on how some of these recipes can be utilized.
The combat in Bloody Hell Hotel appears to be fairly tactical. Swords, axes, and other weaponry can be crafted and put to good use. Blocking, parrying, and attacking will be the standard method of fighting in this game. Everything from skeletons, zombies, and other ghouls will need to be cleared out to find what the player needs. There also appears to be a dismembered feature in this game. The trailer shows the decapitation of an undead minion in-game. Let’s also not forget that vampires also have magical powers. Not only can this come in handy with the renovation features, but also in the combat, as well. Evidently, players can summon the cow to help out while in battle by kicking around enemies. Transforming into a bat and other creatures will apparently also be something that players can do. Which, by the way, helps get through the hotel by special pathways that are shortcuts.
Extended Slay
Even after the hotel is fully built, there will be a constant stream of managerial duties to attend to. Players will need to flip the rooms and clean up messes. Thus, there will also be maintenance like broken furniture and possibly leaking faucets that will need to be patched up. Of course, players will have the choice to appease all the guests, or simply use them as cattle. They can always sneak into their room and feed off them if they so choose. Sometimes, a recipe requires a special ingredient that only humans have. Therefore, players can run a legit hotel if they want. On the flip side, they can turn it into a house of horrors, if they desire. There will be different ways to obtain resources in this game. Either through completing dungeons or by farming. Bloody Hell Hotel has many layers to it.
Hence, players can grow vegetation or set everything up to just strictly use people as a resource. There is no doubt that Bloody Hell Hotel has some interesting potential behind it. It is a refreshing simulation that offers a little bit of everything in terms of gameplay mechanics. This game is still early in development and there is no clear indication as to when it will be released. From how it already looks, there is no question as to why it is starting to garner attention. It seems to be well-crafted and off to a good start. It still has a ways to go, of course. Nonetheless, there is some undeniable charm to this game that isn’t seen too often in games of this genre. It will be interesting to see what the developers have planned for the rest of this game’s production.
A Bite for the Night
Needless to say, the trailer for Bloody Hell Hotel came out of nowhere. Nobody within the gaming community was expected. However, this game appears to be a welcomed addition to the simulator sub-genre. Of course, it can also be looked at as a light-hearted crafting survival game, as well. It depends on who looks at it. Right now, there is no release date for Bloody Hell Hotel. Chances are that it could take a year or two before it will potentially be launched. Currently, is locked in to be a PC exclusive with no word on whether it will be coming to consoles.
